Safeway cheddar bagel toasted and sandwiched with
bussetto prosciutto
bussetto salami
Trader Joe’s Bomba Italian cabrian chili paste

the arugula I had was too old - I miss the days of buying an ounce of arugula at the supermarket salad bar for making sandwiches.

kettle country bbq chips

I would regard 4pm as late lunch rather than early dinner but as long as the food's good, who cares!

I usually call early dinner as supper!

Also, on a different topic, a great documentary series about the food industry on Netflex. It's called "Rotten" which made me aware that China is the globe's biggest producer of garlic and honey (two different episodes)! A must binge watching for every foodie! ;)

Rotten is an investigative documentary series produced by Zero Point Zero, focusing on corruption in the global food supply chain.[1] The show's first season was released on Netflix in January 2018,[2] and the second season in October 2019.[3] Each show "dives deep into the food production underworld to expose the corruption, waste and real dangers behind your everyday eating habits,"[4] featuring interviews with manufacturers, distributors, and others. The series uncovers wrongdoing by corporations who control the food that we eat.

I always thought it was the opposite as Thanks giving Dinner was around 3 pm, and Sunday Dinners were also very early growing up.

Grilled ribeye steak
grilled corn on the cob
purple rice

Quite some luncheon! I dare say taken at 1pm but the menu sounds more like dinner to me!

Lol...this topic seems to pop up every 6 months or so. I think it's definitely a regional/cultural thing in the US. I grew up in Wisconsin farm country, and some farmers have both a dinner and a supper. Dairy farmers tend to get up before 5 am for morning milking and stay up very late for night milking. Not as bad as it used to be now that so much of that is automated, but the long days basically resulted in both afternoon and evening meals. But like you said, IIRC dinner was the earlier meal, often what I would consider a late lunch.

That Monday luncheon factored in our 4:00-6:45p scheduled baseball scrimmage. just too hard to prepare an elaborate grilled steak supper after this kind of afternoon. Plus our child had a Mother’s Day cheeseburger so I predicted that they’d have low desire for cow.

gorgeous!
how do you cook the egg noodles?

what is the red sauce in the little glass bowl with the silver spoon not on a chain?

egg poached in red & green salsas with crushed tortilla chips, cheese and sour cream. I have cilantro and forgot to use it. Grr.

yes, which is why I have it but sometimes it only lasts a few days & it would have been good on my egg! . I will make a sauce to keep in the fridge if I can't use it up.

No one should ever have a low desire for cow!

For my luncheon today, I had leftover Italian beef meat in a tortilla wrap, with my homemade giardiniera.

Cilantro pesto? Mixed with parsley for chimichurri? Mmmmmm...cilantro.
