I have been straying since July. Come November, it will be salmon twice a week and lots of vegetables. I’m one of those that can drop his cholesterol 40 points in a month or two with just a change in diet. Not really in the danger zone but have risen from 180 to 200 in 3 months.

breakfast... mixed greens with shredded mozzarella and raspberry vinaigrette dressing

GW McLintock Oct 23, 2021 10:49 am

Oatmeal for breakfast. Used a DoorDash promo to get a salad with chicken for lunch another time, and a plate of chicken and veggies for another time lunch. Decided to have the hot food for lunch.

Going to a steakhouse in the city tonight. I don't eat beef (usually) and I'm not planning on it tonight so we'll see how that goes.

But you do chicken and/or pork, right?
If not, then I'm sure you'll enjoy the one veggie burger, pasta dish, or salad on the menu. :D

They have fish, but I am not sure if it is family style or if we each order our own meal. I did not see chicken on the menu, and I try to also avoid pork.

They have a shrimp cocktail on the appetizer menu that I may just get along with a salad. I could make that work.

Gorgeous avocados - do you have a tree? I’m paying like $4.99 for a bag of 4 at Trader Joe’s because the 6 for $6.99 at Costco is too many :-)

The more the merrier … Vons had them on sale before last Wednesday (when the specials change) and had to wait for them to soften! :)

I was going to have dinner delivered, but decided not to blow a weeks worth of grocery budget on a dozen meatballs and salad from a local Italian restaurant even with a Doordash promo code. So mac and cheese with carrots.

Holy hell... this was our menu tonight:

Iceberg Wedge Salad, Tomato, Blue Cheese and Canadian Bacon
Sizzling Canadian Bacon (Extra Thick by the Slice)

Grilled Norwegian Salmon Fillet (half/shared)
Grilled Yellowfin Tuna (half/shared)
Porterhouse steak (yes I had some :o)
Creamed spinach
Roasted potatoes

Tiramisu, lemon cheesecake, warm orange butter cake, mixed berries (all on the house)

I think there were two martinis in there somewhere. One had blue cheese-stuffed olives... I could have just eaten those for dinner. We also had two bottles of Caymus 2016.

The guy we were with was a friend of the restaurant.
It's no Sparks or Keens... but it was damn good.
Easily the best meal of 2021.
