I just tried Trader Joe's today as they finally got the MX925 a couple of days ago, but it did nothing, so it was off, but they are using the same old pos it seems, so that may be why its off. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...0425151645.jpg I'm pretty sure Chick Fil A is the same(Off), but I did not go there today.

I mentioned this in the other thread but my local In-N-Out has Verifone VX805 PIN pads attached to their registers now. They're positioned so customers have no access but maybe this means that NFC will start working there soon.

I think the chip slot is disabled too. I wouldn't be surprised if they are waiting for every store is upgraded before turning on. I'd imagine when the chip is enabled NFC will be too - or at least I hope so :-/

I'd have to say some prettying exciting stuff happening with Contactless/EMV now! So there are two models of the VX805, one with NFC and one without NFC, here is one with NFC: http://www.verifone.com/media/154723...ss_550x550.jpg if you could see, did they install that model or is it this one: http://www.verifone.com.au/media/959...pe_550x550.jpg ? So just like on the VX520 these ones with the four indicators have nfc built in and it will light up went ready just like with the VX520, so you will know if its on.

I hope so as well, you know that theme does look really sparse, so it looks like a base that they just threw together and Trader Joe's is still using the same ancient pos from what I can tell, so that could be another reason for both to be off.

They definitely have the clear plastic for the lights, but they weren't on at all. I don't think the screen said anything other than "In-N-Out" even.

I really hope they become customer facing soon. It looks to be a wonderful time for both EMV and smartphone payments! I really hope they didnt only get these for C&S and that's it.

The advantage of pushing Sale is that you don't need to try to explain that you want to pay with Apple Pay/Google Wallet and possibly have to walk them through how to start a transaction manually.
So I tried Apple Pay at the FD35. Everything was working fine, but then the transaction was declined. I was using a Citi Visa. I called Citi afterwards (they transferred me to the fraud dept. before I could state the nature of the call). They showed the decline on their side but didn't have any information on why it was declined. Representative's best guess was a setup issue on the merchant side.

The merchant takes EMV and afterwards I successfully used the same chipped Visa that I tried with Apple Pay.

Any ideas on what might be happening? Something not setup properly on the processor side?

This was mentioned before, but Discover finally released a PR about supporting Apple Pay. The release date is still this fall.

Probably the most likely explanation. I'm not sure what would need to be set up exactly though.

I've been having the same problem with my CSP here in HK. Over a dozen calls to chase and many reps and cases later and no one knows why. Haven't managed a single trans with my CSP while my arrival+ works like a charm.

I thought they were going to be one of the last holdouts, just like Walmart. Cool.

Best Buy to accept Apple Pay in app and in stores

Well here is the corporate link: https://corporate.bestbuy.com/apple-...ter-this-year/ Well tmiw you beat me to posting it here. Also they are supporting Apple Pay in app starting today. I'm pretty sure that CVS and Rite Aid will be next to announce support for Apple Pay as Rite Aid is showing the contactless logo on their new MX925's and CVS is still installing M925's with the contactless addons and they haven't removed them at all.

They are but they aren't the first MCX member to accept Apple Pay in stores. There is a precedent. Meijer is an MCX member (see here http://www.mcx.com/) and they started accepting Apple Pay the same month it came out (see here http://www.theverge.com/2014/10/30/7...obile-payments and here http://www.apple.com/apple-pay/where-to-use-apple-pay/)

Planet Beauty is now accepting Apple Pay, just hit credit and then tap. It doesn't tell you to tap, have the contactless logo, or have the four contactless lights on screen but it still works. They are using the MX915 but contact EMV isn't enabled.
