 I'm even surprised I've included any ER designations on that list.

Yes. Others may have performed similiar actions.

Congrats on your test scores by the way. Why do you want to be a teacher?

I think the operating metal is all that matters.

All teacher certification exams now noted as passed...and all of them at the high end of the spectrum. Highest possible score on the three-part Reading/Writing/Math is 190 in each section. Copa rocks the joint with 183/182/186 respectively. I'm pissed about the 182 in Writing; that's easily my best subject. It could have been higher.

And I've been telling you for most of a year that was our expectation of you.

Thank you. Why? Because I have a passion for the material, mainly. I have found that teachers who sound like they care often end up getting more of their material to permanently reside in their students' heads. I also want to give back, because I had a history teacher in high school that made me want to teach...I'm all about wanting to be in the position to be a role model. I also think society is headed way downhill at way too fast a speed, so I want to counter that in my little corner of the planet. Plus, I'm a skilled public speaker and can hold people's attention. I'm taking these exams in lieu of GRE's or some such thing since I am applying to an M.Ed. program that results in teacher licensure. The plan is to get the M.Ed., get a job, and then have a school district pick up the cost of an M.A. in the subject area. Then with two Master's degrees, I can teach high school at a high level of proficiency, tutor on the side, and adjunct.

Funny you should ask this...I just got off the phone with my mentor and told him that I was starting on a draft of my personal statement this week. :D

And while the outside community may have expected such, I up until recently only discovered the self-esteem to believe it myself. Big difference from hearing about it to having it actually dawn on you.

I think that sounds good in theory, but it may be awfully difficult to pull off, particularly in terms of the amount of time that it will take to do everything. My significant other is a middle school teacher, and she barely has time to do anything other than her day job.

Same here. The better half is a high school teacher and she's so busy planning lessons and grading that there is not really time to get her Master's. Also, the benefit for getting her Master's is something like $1,500 a year, so it would take us until she was near retirement to pay off the loan
