I don't know if it's an option, but if you can purchase the items at Lowes, 10% coupons are easily acquired and you could buy the appliances in Paterson and only pay 3.5% sales tax instead of the 7%.

@:-) You can start looking at all sorts of gadgets to go with your new kitchen :-:
My kitchen design company called today to say that the likely delivery date of the cabinets will be mid-February. I snorted with laughter and said, "great, you can hang on to them for at least three more months because the foudnation isn't even in yet!" To which she replied: after two weeks, it's a $10 a day storage fee ":rolleyes::rolleyes: This damned building inspector has cost me over 2 months in delays, 2 months extra rent payments, 2 months extra storage unit fees, and now I'll be stiffed with kitchen storage fees as well. Sigh! |

I would tend towards avoiding the payment of taxes by default but the question would be how many miles (RDM and FlexEQM) one would require to compensate for the extra $1,000 in taxes. If there's more than enough miles for an international J ticket, I could be convinced the extra taxes would be worthwhile. |

I think they bill it in Dollars, but don't recall precisely. Some cards have no such surcharge, but it's doubtful your mother has one unless she was purposefully seeking them out during limited periods of offer/availability.

I think it is $131 at SCL. I don't have my passport on me now (which has the receipt), but I do recall it being more than $100, and $131 sounds right. You only get charged the fee if you land and enter the country at SCL.
I think Argentina's new entry fee is only levied at EZE. EZE does indeed have a departure tax, but I do not recall what it is (Maybe ~$35). ). The EZE Departure tax has been rolled into tickets ( At least for CO and DL) as of last year. |
