Just took advantage of the warm weather to walk the golf course with my dog. Just enough snow to make it scenic, yet not too bad to walk through.

The snow down here is mostly gone except for a few small piles after the rain. Too bad the roads completely fell apart because of the rain. Pot hole city. Too bad NJ doesn't have money to fix pot holes this year.

4-Hour delays can go from  to :D. SA Express CR7 that went tech at some no-name airstrip in Zambezi (or something like that) was swapped for a 737-200 in a nominally white paint-job (with bits of aluminum finish peeking through), with africancharterairline.com stencilled on the side. So far as I can tell, no such website exists. However, ZS-SIL has had a colorful ownership history according to airframes.org, with several third-rate African carriers owning the bird at some time or other (before SA got some sort of lease over it). We got bussed to the plane, which was parked next to an Air Almaty IL-76T :D.

Got to WVB just in time to capture some late evening photos of the dunes and surrounding moonscape. "Desolate" does not do the desert here justice. The English language needs a new word capable of describing the :-::eek:.

Sounds fun; if by fun you mean flying an aircraft that risks the wings falling off at any moment. :D

That blows my 737-400 ride today out of the water.

Greetings from MAF and illustrious 1xRTT service. Ewwww.

On the drive up here, received a couple texts from COAir telling me that 2330 is going out 50min late now. And still got here 30 minutes earlier than normal in expectation of TSA . Breezed right through security with no problems at all... Seemed just like any other normal day passing through here. I have noticed a bunch more of them standing around "observing" the pax sitting at the various gates... probably the ones that have been trained to look for the oddball behaviour of the people waiting.

Other than that... guess I'll get to see how kettle-packed IAH is once we get there.

The SA 732 might be better maintained than a US 734. :p Very probably true with the interior.

Heading off to the gym after a nice dinner - also found a hole-in-the-wall shop (yes, this does exist near the Louvre) and got some chips, fig cookies, and a bottle of wine for 5,05 euro. Yes, the wine was cheaper than Charles Shaw.

Starting my New Year's resolution early doing a big cleanup in my basement. 6 bags of stuff and 2 non-functioning small appliances(why:confused:) later, I have a nice pile for the garbage pickup.
