This foundation system is hardly new anymore. Check with your GC first though.

I was just speaking with my GC. Apparently, there have been several complaints already to the Mayor about this particular inspector.

Once we have finished our project, I think I will draft a formal complaint to the town. I just don't want to put a fly in the ointment at critical stages and delay our building even more than it has already been delayed.

If he passes the hole at noon (or whenever he deigns to turn up), then the GC is going to work all night if necessary to get the stone in and prepared for SW tomorrow.

6+ inches of snow coming to ORD-land after midnight tonight. My longer commute to Casa de Triscuit tomorrow could be .

Oh dear, poor Baglady. I feel for you. I hate the cold so much. :(

Rocking song! We have all the Animaniacs dvds - we bought for ourselves, but we let the kids watch them occasionally ;)

It's allegedly 4G here in Chicago. The current pricing around here looks promising ($55/mo gets you a home router and a separate USB dongle for when you're out of the house). If it turns out I could get a reliable 2-3 Mbps downlink at Casa de bdjohns1, I'd consider it.

There is a difference between Clear and Clearwire. Clearwire offers a wide area WiFi service promulgated by a Motorola Canopy system. Clear (owned by Clearwire) is WiMAX (a 4G standard) that is like WiFi only in that it is orthogonal, but the service layer and all the rest of the junk that makes up a WiMAX signal is quite a bit different. It offers much faster throughput and quality of service. Before I left the wireless telecom arena, the tests we were doing in the lab was seeing air speeds of 11mbps to 14mbps on the downlink and 2mbps to 4mbps on the uplink. Of course, those were lab tests and were on a local network versus having an actual backhaul connection that has its own constraints. But really, 4GB is a marked improvement in wireless data communication. I'm excited to see LTE roll out as well.

:o

I love the boxing (from Wii Fit); probably my favorite thing to do other than yoga.

I have to try to re-expose the nephews to it. My previous attempts failed as they were too young.

I would love to see my nephews running around singing Lake Titicaca as my sister pulls her hair out. I'm an evil brother. :D

I enjoyed Buttons and Mindy (poor dog never caught a break) and Good Idea, Bad Idea as voiced by Tom Bodett.

As someone who used to do food R&D, I'd go with the song about food ingredient lines. :D
