So my $5 a day in the parking garage I should not complain about?

You have no right to complain about that. And I assume you mean the garage next to the terminal?

Most of us pay more than that to park off the airport property and take a shuttle bus.

DL may still be letting people CO into its clubs for a short time. I guess we'll find out after you try :p

I've kind of felt that way about the Sonata. There have been many times I've arrived to find the Executive Aisle full of Imapalas and Sonatas. I don't mind the Sonata at all, even though there's nothing exciting about it. But at least it's not the boat that the Imapala is.

I've had Sonata's many times as rentals and prefered them over many other cars. I use to joke a the Enterprise place near my house if I was getting "my Sonata as usual" The most fun rental car I've had was a brand new Subaru WRX early 2008.

I'm thinking of getting rid of cable (currently provided through Comcast) and replacing it with internet service, but I'm not sure who to go with or what type of service to get. I don't have a landline, nor do I want one; I currently have a cell phone through Sprint.

Any thoughts?

Naked DSL through ATT? Cable internet through Comcast? One of those USB internet modems through Sprint?

What are your Internet usage habits? Are you transferring lots of files, looking at video, etc?

I used Oplink DSL, a local provider. Their pricing was a little better than AT&T at the time (I had it from 2006-2008 when I moved) and their customer service was incredible. I never had any issue at all with the service. I used Time Warner Cable for Internet access before that, and they were great — until Comcast took over the cable system in Houston. Overnight I began to experience frequent outages and repeated service calls, and finally gave up and switched to DSL, even though it was slower, just to have something that was always up and reliable.

I expect for my internet usage to be a combination of: reading newspapers online; Flyertalk; Youtube viewing (but not uploading anything there); occasional iTunes purchases/downloads; general web browsing and occasional file downloads. I would think that my usage would be considered to be in the "light to normal" range compared to most users.

Brituchenite is not a happy girl this morning ....:(:(:(:mad::mad:

Seems the "I'm-such-a-jerk-I'm-going-to-make-your-life-so-miserable-because-I-haven't-done-my-homework-or-kept-current-with-advanced-building-technologies-Inspector" came out to inspect the hole last night -in the freaking dark, I might add - and did not pass it because there was a teeny tiny 1/2" deep x 3 or 4" square puddle of water in one corner.

What he doesn't seem to realize is that with the Superior Walls foundation we are not pouring footings. The foundation sits on a 6" bed of crushed stone. The inspector seems to think we need to pour concrete footings, even though it is spelt out in black and white letter 600feet high on the plans (OK, exaggeration there, I admit :p).

Plus the ground engineer passed it and said it's solid enough to build a skyscraper on it. What more does this jerk of an inspector want?

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:  day. My builder is apoplectic. I am being very nice to my builder today and remaining cool, calm and collected.

Of course, that doesn't mean to say I will remain that way when the inspector returns at 12 noon. If he doesn't pass it, there is no saying what words might escape my ladylike mouth......

I really don't know what recourse we have with the town. This inspector only comes in twice a week for two hours. Wonder if I should go in and see the Big Cheese Administrator who runs the town and lodge a complaint??

I guess we will ....:p

I'll report back on Monday next.

I've got Verizon FiOS. I am VERY happy with it. Much faster for the same price as the C:rolleyes:mcast service I had before.

Speaking of C:rolleyes:mcast, I'm on hold with them right now about an IP blocking issue ... they offered to let us have access to some new-fangled automated billing system for only $2. Quite

After about 15 minutes of being bounced around I finally reached someone who understood what the problem I'm calling about is. He put me on hold, came back and asked me to check something, put me on hold again and ... 5 minutes later I was cut off. :td:

Right, but compared with the 5GB monthly limits on 3G access (Sprint, Verizon, and in very tiny areas crap AT&T) your usage is high. Your best bet is either WiMAX through Clear (dunno if they are in Houston yet, they just hit here in Austin) or Cable/DSL of your chosing.

And there, ladies and gentlemen, in plain sight, one of the chief reasons that New Jersey is in the hole that it's in. Said inspector probably does that gig in five or six different towns and pulls bennies from all of them.

If it'll make you feel better; results almost guaranteed to be nil.

That's a way to ensure any new permits requited from this inspector are scrutinized and delayed out of both spite and incompetence. Right now you're only dealing with incompetence.

Building inspectors keep up to date? Don't make me laugh. I guess he's never watched This Old House or Home Time as both shows have used that foundation system, and w/o a footing.

FiOS rules. Fiancee got it and it is insanely fast, on top of being some of the best customer service I have ever come across. If it's good enough to impress my other half, you know it's good. Plus, according to my understanding, the FiOS phone reps speak clear English. That in and of itself makes me want to evangelize the brand.
