Good Evening, Box.
Just had a pleasant enough dinner at Steak954 here at the W in Ft. Lauderdale. Started with the tuna and foie gras tacos, followed by a baby beet salad, and finally the red snapper tiradito. Dessert was a carrot cake with a fabulous cognac butterscotch frosting. Tummy happy... |

Thanks, I did read the FAQ but must have missed that. I was inclined to take the RJ145 anyway, as I haven't flown CO for 10 years and wanted see what it's all about. At NW I avoided RJ's like the plague, but from where I'm from it looks like I'll be riding a lot of them.

Is Montreal the city in Canada that is recommended? Looking at you ALCO. I have been looking at Quebec and Montreal and Montreal looks like it has more interesting stuff.

I've gone mad. I'm considering dropping $600 on a flight that won't earn miles.

The city itself is incredibly beautiful, and has some incredible restaurants. It's also quite fun riding the ferry across the frozen St. Lawrence, as it pushes 2' thick ice floes out of the way. |

Personally, I'd take Quebec City. Montreal is just another big city when you get down to it. Quebec City has character. If you go in the winter, Lac Beauport has ice skating, snowshoeing, sled-dogs, snowmobiling, etc.

Why was Ryan Bingham only Hertz #1 Gold and why did Hertz want to advertise that their Gold members get Chrysler Sebrings? :p

He didn't rent enough for President's Circle. Maybe he got 5-star? ;)
Perhaps the Sebring was a dramatic device to emphasize how limited his aspirations were. Either that, or it wouldn't be plausible that he would want a Taurus.

Ah - even I'm Hertz #1 Gold 5* and have never received (nor desired) a Chrysler Sebring.

Any recommendation on a SPG property up there? From that property, it's a 3 min. drive to the ferry terminal in Levis. Alternatively, you can drive the long way round to the bridge, and into Quebec City. However, parking in the old city is a royal pain, as it's a 400+ year old walled city with limited space inside. Best bet is to park the car at the ferry terminal and ride the ferry into Vieux Quebec. Be sure to eat at Aux Anciens Canadiens. Expensive, but the food is fantastic. I think I had Moose in Blueberry sauce, which was very tasty. There are also tons of places in the old city that serve a million different varieties of crepes (sweet and savory). |
Apparently it was Caribou, not moose. Still pretty tasty. I'll get around to eating a Moose at some point. :-:

Aerosur MIA-VVI-LPB, with MIA-VVI on an ex-Ethiopian 767-200, and VVI-LPB on a 727-200. Two nights at some hotel built into the side of a cliff on Lake Titicaca (About $23/night for Hotel :D).

The RJs on CO are decidedly NOT what the experience is all about. Good luck with that.

I've really wanted to visit Quebec city - but for some reason airfares are always redonkers whenever I want to go. Hartmann - ifyou are on the search, let me know if you see anything reasonable pop up, I'd love to drag teh Mister up there. :) |
