Yep. That version was only slightly less POSsy than the one it replaced. The late 1990s version that lived on until around 2005 as the Classic was pretty craptacular.

The classic was a classic. 0-60 in about an hour.

Yes, and even though I'm in South Florida I plan on using those heated leather seats. It's supposed to be 34F tomorrow morning.

Right now is a very prolonged cold snap by TN standards - not even projected to get to 34 until next Monday. Average high this time of year is 45.

There isn't a car of that class on the market that I'd call "good." The fact is that when you get down into the sub-compact/economy car segment, they're all pretty awful. But it could have been worse. You could have been driving an Aveo.

That would be the least of the complications with the Anglocanuck.

Avis was giving me 5,050 miles on a $25 rental. Have to drive what the company gives you.

Good night, Box. I have to get some sleep, need to be at client site by 700a.

I'm sad that Avis isn't offering 5k DL miles this year for 4 day rentals. I scored almost 200k from that deal.

Ewwww.

Honestly, why is Chrysler still in business? How can you turn out so many sucky products year after year and still be open? The only things keeping them afloat for the last decade have been the rental car companies, the ultra sub-prime no credit customers who can't get financed for anything else, and a few somewhat decent truck/SUV products that some people actually seek out.

I'm sad they aren't doing it for 1-day rentals :p The 9,999 bonus mile promo was beautiful, as was the Avis/Budget where2, 5,000 for renting an SUV, 3,000 on Budget that just ended, etc.

You can thank Fiat and the US and Canadian governments. I'm surprised that their brief period of German ownership didn't yield better designed cars.

I kind of like the PT Cruiser's design -- you can see the road pretty well, and the interior has lots of space -- but why they didn't put a better and quieter engine in it, I'll never know.

Honda Fit is supposed to be OK. Does a Mini count?

If I had a real commute, I would buy a Fit in a heartbeat. They are pretty cool.
