Don't be scared of it. It's impossible to resist. Just accept it for what it is.

I played with it for 5 minutes and immediately figured out what a powerful tool it is. But if I do have the cash and time to make an attempt at requalifying for :-:G, it will be ITA that makes it possible.

CO BF seats aren't well padded either.

I don't think they're extremely soft and plush, but I've never found them to be that hard either. They're certainly not like some Y seats where you are sore after an hour, and you can feel pressure from the seat's metal frame.

End of year numbers are finished: if everything posts as it should, 51877 EQM.

Well done! ^^

Thanks. I will never again match the price at which those EQM were achieved (between voucher use, other people's money, and winning the Star Do I think I hit that EQM number for about $700 out of pocket) but I have seen icurhere2 post that $1,000 per status tier is a respectable goal. Once I get a real job again I think I can swing spending 1k per tier.

That's a worse case with no double (or 3.5) EQM out of BNA. Out of WAS or NYC, I could see a better outcome.

I would probably make most of my runs out of PHL just to avoid hotel costs. If it's super-sexy out of NYC or WAS I would consider incurring more cost, but having said that I missed out on DCA-SFO...worst part of not booking that is that I told the fiancee about it and she said that she would have done it.

If the NA dollar coins come back, I wouldn't have to fly to re-qualify next year (although I would indeed be flying around).

DCA-SFO is going to be pretty intense. Excluding positioning (haven't decided if I will fly or train down to DC), the MR will feature 29+ hours of flying over a 44.5 hour period.

Scott6067 will be on 5 out of the 8 flights with me. ^

How much time on the ground without an open lounge?

I decided to start slow. Four segments, one day, with plenty of sleep opportunities, a destination with free WiFi and palatable lunch options (I checked, it doesn't seem awful) and good chances for both upgrades and bumps. The early PHL-IAH is known to be Elite-light, and that last IAH-PHL of the night, at least before the economy tanked, used to be known as a good bump chance and was also something of an oil route...but Sunoco is closing their refinery that you see across the river from PHL when you land on the runways parallel to the river, so who knows anymore.

This is the way to go. My first attempt was a simple LGA-IAH-SNA-IAH-LGA run. I chickened out in Houston and went back home. :td::td:

I have since made two successful MR's since then.

If a city in CA or SEA would have been available at the same kind of CPM that PHX was, I would have done it even though I'm not chasing Plat and stopping at Gold, because PHL to the West Coast and back certainly Is Possible. I'm getting a new line and dot out of the deal too. Always a good thing.
