I suppose it depends on the definition of show. Is that actually showing up for their flight or checked-in? OLCI and autocheck increases the checked-in %. I remember my one time there and having a delay, they would rattle off a long list of passenger names they were waiting for up until door closing time. I had assumed they did OLCI or something and never turned up at the airport.

People actually showing up and taking the flight.

Of course there are exceptions, but overall the number of people that check-in and eventually fly their flight is very high at LAS.

What Olton Hall said about people missing flights is probably true, a lot of people there looked very harried and in bad shape. However, after some discussions with someone in the know, LAS actually has one of the highest show rates in the system.

The security lines there are bad at times. When leaving the day after a major convention I would always tell people to allow and extra 30 or 45 minutes at minimum. The new lines there are doing well. LAS airport seems to react quickly in my opinion to the needs of their customers. If only TSA was the same.

Well there is a little more to do around the CO gates at LAS than at most airports. I am sure that Starbucks does a fair share of coffee sales in the morning!!

I would think that the AM flights are the worse potentially as the people may be working the tables or slots still or perhaps it is the 1 am flight to EWR,CLE, or IAH?

Doesn't the TSA have a rule about spare laptop batteries needing to be placed inside of a bag? I seem to remember having to carry my spare battery in a ziploc in the days when I had one.

Looks like AmEx is going wild with credit limit reductions again, after doubling my limit 6 months ago, back to what it was before now. doesn't really bother me, they made it insanely high before. I had no need to buy a house at their rates :D

AmEx increased my limit six-fold this year but I've maxed out bonuses except at grocery stores and gas stations. My statements are about to get a lot thinner.

Try the 1980s for that plane. The Avro was nothing more than a slightly upgraded Bae-146, which was a pretty popular plane in its day. UA, NW, and US all had various versions of them operating domestically from the mid-1980s until the early part of the current decade. NW was the last to operate them, but they also had some of the newest types — theirs were actually Avro-branded, versus the -146 that was flying out of DEN for UAEX until around 2002.

The type is still quite common in Europe. The smaller RJs really killed them here in the US, and once airlines realized that they really did have a need for a 70-90 seat class jet, the larger CRJs and E70/E90 were there to fill that void.

I'm quite glad I got my lone Avro 85 flight on NW in 2005. It was a quite comfortable plane and amazingly quiet.

I picked up a few -146 flights out of Chicago on UAX in the 02/03 timeframe (after UA lifted mainline service ORD-SYR). Until the E170s came out, those were my preferred RJ flights versus the standard (for the time) CR2.

For those ordering coins please be aware that the boxes of $250 didn't seem to get sealed consistently a couple weeks back. Managed to throw coins across the living room a few minutes ago.

Does baglady need flight reading? Apparently ABC is milking the Castle thing to the point that someone is writing novels as Richard Castle.

Of to the office with a few dollar coins and rebate checks (for the bank) and a three-pack of Tim Tams (for my colleagues).
