you can prepay the departure tax at selected branches of Banco de Costa Rica, so you can do that before you leave and its one line less on your way out (you need to take at least a photocopy of your passport and the 26 bucs)

the ride from SYQ to SJO will be at least 20 mins

also to be technically correct, we don't have immigration controls on the way out
