I sat in row 2 on PHX-GEG, and the seat pitch cannot have been more than 34". On the return, I opted for bulkhead. If you are lucky enough to score 1A or 1C, there is almost unlimited legroom.

These all had the same upholstery, but were just a completely different seat. It was almost like they had added a couple of rows of Y, couldn't get the seats they originally had installed, so they just bought a different kind and stuck those in.

I have to admit that I felt a bit claustrophobic on the F upper deck -- but could imagine that I 'could' get comfortable if I happened to be upgraded to same!;):D

I am not a huge fan of the upper deck on 747s and LH is the only carrier that I have been on that has F upstairs. It is usually business or in the case of VS, upper class and some planes have premium Y mixed in.

I like the cozy feeling of the upstairs cabin. If you get the exit row in LH F, even better.

I'm hungry. I really should take a shower and go find food. Last meal was a UA snack box in F on IAD-ATL last night, and that was only because I had no time at IAD to pick up something else.

I slept until noon today. Next time I decide to book a 3,000+ mile journey to get home from MSY, somebody knock some sense back into me. Or at least remind me that getting 1K status two weeks from now is a good thing and worth it.

Hampton Inn Coeur d'Alene is the first Hilton property that I've ever felt compelled to take photos of. I think the room I had there was nicer than at the full-service Hilton Americas Houston.

I got the exit row assigned and aksed the PA at the FCT to put me in row 84, she did it and came back with my new bp and said the whole row is empty, I had my own FA serving me directly from the galley. I had a talk about it with the other FA and he asked if I was assigned the last row and wanted to move, I said no because the front rows fill up first and I could have the window with an empty aisle seat.

All three of my LH F flights involved the exit row. I only had someone next to me for one of those flights. ^

I feel for ya! That's the only reason I could forgo the food at the Tower Lounge -- knew I'd be fed well in J/C (or whatever)! Really enjoyed the sushi box they served!^

I've only done the 747 upstairs. I rather liked the cozy feeling and didn't find it claustrophobic at all. As long as the seat has tons of room, then I'm good. What makes me feel claustrophobic is when I'm physically constrained by the seat, or the wall of the plane is right up against the seat (exit row on a CRJ).

I've found a new favorite mini-cabin. I flew C on a UA 777 in the International Configuration 2 last night for the first time (I've flown a ton of flights on UA's 777 International Configuration 1, which most of their 777s have). The mini cabin with only 10 C seats was outstanding. Granted this was a very short flight — ORD-IAD, one of the shortest domestic flights you can catch a widebody plane on these days — but the service was excellent. We had the same deli plate in C that F got, but our presentation was actually better, with our flight attendants serving a drink, then the tray with deli plate, followed by a cookie and milk service later. I got up at one point to grab something out of my bag in the overhead, and saw the F service — same exact food, all presented on a tray at once, and their service started about 20 minutes after ours did. We hit 10,000 feet and the FAs working C were up taking orders and passing out table linens. They waited in F until we had leveled off.

Anyway, it was probably the absolute best short haul premium cabin experience I've ever had, and was rather impressive considering that flight is less than 600 miles and takes just barely over an hour.

Tomorrow I fly the opposite direction on that route on a three class 763 in C.

Is the service the real draw to LH F? Their seats don't look too impressive, so I've always been curious about what the real appeal is. Considering LH F for FRA-CPT...
