Have you tried power-cycling the cable modem? Have you had anything other than the router plugged into the modem? Switching the cabled connection will kill the connection.

Or try pulling your router out of the loop and plug in directly to the modem (restarting it, of course) and see if that works, pinning the problem on the router.

What was the final cost?

Whoops -- out the door came to $690 for a total of 28,910 EQMs ($.024) as well as 68,365 RDMs ($.01) when considering the year end elite reward.

It is a shame that NW parked them. The were, and still are IMHO, quite a comfortable ride. I rode a couple last year to/from LCY on LH.

I loved those Avro's....I've been on them a couple times (always in F) and always had an empty seat next to me. I think I was once the only one in front on the whole plane. I heard they were even bigger fuel hogs than DC9's/MD80's.

You don't still happen to have the nyc promo link?

My cable modem lease expires every week on Saturday just before midnight - that tends to be when I stop posting to FT.

I opted for the mileage as AA points are one the high end of airline points, at least for me. One-way awards, the ability to access QF (big deal for me) as well as the ability to push them to HH at a 1:2 ratio make them very attractive. Plus I suspect that AA will run another double EQM promo next year, and if so, 6 VIPs + whatever domestic flying I do with them should get me back to EXP.

That said $425 is great -- how'd you get it? ^

It was no big trick there. It was last February when the fares were being given away.:D

Back when giftcertificates.com didn't suck and I was still an AA flyer, I would make a point to purchase a SuperCertificate (for a bunch of miles and usually with a discount code) and immediately redeem for AA gift cards.

Thanks. :) Just found it on the AA forum too. The only thing is, it looks like the promo is only good for tickets purchased before July 29 are eligible??

Thinks I need to do more FT searching..

I dunno the type code of the basket. It made an appearance at the ABQ balloon fiesta back in 2007 though:

I think this clause is there to make the offer retroactive:
Tickets purchased prior to July 29, 2009, for travel between July 29, 2009 and December 31, 2009, are eligible for this promotion.

Thinking of bidding on a timeshare via eBay, given the amount of abuse I've delivered to this one firm ...

I'm not sure what happened, but I'm back up now. Re-entering my WEP key seemed to do the trick.

Rereading - that makes sense. My paranoid self is still evaluating the overall benefit. :)
