The norm is 1 day per hour. Unless you get whacked upside the head with Tylenol PM...I passed out for the flight home, landed, stayed up til almost 11, hit the head at 0630, back to bed til almost 9, and I'm perfectly normal one day after making a six-zone transit. Kinda like Gene Simmons, there are days when it's good to be me.
Morning, Box. |

It normally takes me 1 day per hour time change to readjust to eastern time. No issues from last trip to the UK but that could either because it was only 4 hours and/or because I didn't have to worry about going to work the next morning. Granted HNL a few days latter really messed me up.

I am up but I feel that I have had the crap kicked out of me. So I am going to be timing food and sleep for the next couple of days.

Good morning, box.
Just booked my next trip, including 3 segments on Thanksgiving Day. Let's see how good Chelsea EWR caters the flight EWR-IAH. :D And yes, BoxFM and my FM/OF are updated appropriately. ;) |
Hey, Box. It's a beeeeeeeeee-autiful sunny, 60 degrees. ^ Earlier this morning, a deer h:eek:pped across the sidewalk as I took my dog for a walk. Not a normal occurrence for the area. Fortunately, my dog was staring at a squirrel up in a tree. The whole thing reminded me of the kangeroo hopping through "Flash Forward."

I should have crawled out. That would have been classic -- all 6'4" of me crawling under her.

Forgot to mention that, for some reason -- my heating system is not functioning correctly after I turned down the thermostat for my travels! Ah, well --- have great space heaters & won't be around t'morrow for service -- it'll have to wait until Tues. |
It is getting progressively harder to operate here on 2-3 hours blocks of sleep. Even 6 hours at a time isn't very helpful. I've been taking more naps than normal. I'm really looking forward to sleeping tonight after dinner with FTers (randomly bumped into them on the streets here) and then sleeping a LOT on the flight to LAX.
The hotel situation is resolved. I found a nice looking *** on hotels.com for USD$60. A bargain so I booked it (the hotel's site had the same for EUR115). An hour later I try to check in and they have no record of my reservation. No problem...I'll just store my bags. Two hours later after a great lunch and still no reservation. Uh oh. She books me into an empty room anyways and I head off for nap time. At some point this afternoon the reservation finally came in and I just confirmed that it was correctly applied to the room I've already been checked in to. Very well handled by the staff here. And the hotel is pretty nice. Definitely no suite upgrades like at the Le Meridian around the corner, but it is a third of the price and completely functional for my needs. |
