I was in 1A on a 319. You're just seeing the aisle, looking toward the galley.

Same here. I don't find that position comfortable at all.

Did you try sliding out and going underneath her blanket? :D

She was like that for two hours or more!

I should have crawled out. That would have been classic -- all 6'4" of me crawling under her.

No, and quite frankly CO would have been signing its death warrant by joining oneworld. The oneworld alliance member carriers have fallen WAY behind their peers in terms of leveraging the benefits of alliance integration, and had CO joined oneworld, CO would have found itself spending millions of dollars and plenty of man-hours for an arrangement that delivered virtually nothing complementary to CO's existing offerings, while the SkyTeam and Star Alliance carriers continue to refine their long-haul network strategies based upon an alliance carrier-based framework.

Not to mention, AA has effectively abandoned all intentions of being an industry leader for the foreseeable future. While its USA legacy peers continue to innovate their product offerings and pursue new market opportunities around the world -- with considerable success -- AA has decided, through corporate decisions made with respect to both its network and its product offerings, to be relegated to an also-ran status, at best. This has a knock-on effect with respect to its partners -- JAL can seriously consider leaving oneworld, for instance, because its upside potential with AA is just so limited.

OTOH, CO's partnership with UA and the move to Star Alliance has, thus far, gone a considerable way to addressing many of the shortcomings we've identified in CO over the years. From the reintroduction of 100% EQMs to a useful intra-West Coast and TPAC presence (via United) and a much greater ability to redeem OnePass miles for award flights, CHANGE has come to Continental, and we haven't seen the last of the progress.

You're kind of trapped now with the non-lie flat seats.

Where Does a Platinum One Pass Pax Stand on United? Need Advise

I am new to FT and to this forum. I hope this is an appropriate question. I fly out of CLE and will be Platinum on CO for the first time. I cannot find the answer to this question anywhere: I have even called the OnePass Desk, and the United FF program desk and all I get is mumbo-jumbo answers. If I book a flight on United using my One Pass number, do I get Elite Miles credited to my OnePass account (and what is the distribution of those based on fare class) AND where do I fit in in terms of automatic upgrades with the United 1K pax? Do I go behind the 1K and in front of the 50,000 group? Or when it comes to upgrades are Platinum CO pax treated the same as Gold United pax?

My goal is to remain platinum with CO and get as many upgrades as possible as I fly through ORD. So I need those elite point. (Total points are secondary -- I have more than I use). I need a strategy, as more and more non-stops out of CLE are available on CO. Should I give up on CO and beg United for a transfer of status and then book all flights through ORD?

Also, does the Gold Star Alliance card get you into all United Clubs or do you need an international ticket?

Yes.

No reciprocal upgrades (yet).

Probably too late: intra-alliance poaching no-no.

No. President's Club yes

Now, prepare to be cuffed around for not searching and reading the Star sticky threads. But not by me. And welcome to FlyerTalk.

1. You will earn Elite bonues on United flights at the percentage you earn them on CO flights.

2. CO and United have not yet introduced reciprocal Elite upgrading. Stay tuned for likely changes on this situation, though, as United moves to eUA in Q2 2010.

Oh, I mis-read. I read it as a *concert* of Star Wars music.

Oh I've done that w/ John Williams as conductor. James Earl Jones was narrating too.

Yes, indeed he did score the music. All kidding aside, it looks pretty fun. Here is a link:
