To all my fellow DL Elites in teh Box (or anyone else), with the CO SWU announcement, a plethora of the "We need to tell DL threads to get better SWUs" have started again. I generally post to those threads that for a plethora of reasons that DL will not grant SWUs on discount coach. Am I wrong here? Long prior to the merger, DL elites were fighting this war and not winning. Am I incorrect that this is not a problem of communication but rather a problem of "corporate philosophy"?

I will be looking it up, but while at it there are some VERY NICE B fares to europe right now, instant upgrades in the US and B fare under $1200 round trip. would make a nice upgrade with miles.

I agree with you that DL will not follow the example but only because there are beancounters in control of that sort of thing who believe that it would be revenue negative. Corporate philosophy is mutable as we have seen at CO where a few years ago it was stated that this sort of thing was not something that CO would do, period.
