I've had this happen a few times, twice the cab ride was more than I spent to stay the night in the hotel...I don't see how they can afford to do this, that same thing would have paid an employee a few hours. they should at least have some agreement with a cab co to call in at some discount rate.

No disrespect is meant of course.:) I am somewhat jaded as a former NW PE and a current AA EXP, the upgrade rates were always pretty good. When I was a PLT on AA, I usually got Exit Rows which were just as nice as E+ during my days as a 1P on UA. I don't disagree that E+ is nicer than E- on UA or non-exit rows on other airlines. It was just not enough for me to change my flying based on E+ alone.:)

None taken. If I could fly AA enough to be EXP, I would too.

I did change my primary loyalty program based largely on E+. I switched from US for three reasons: (1) they lowered the preferred mileage bonuses, (2) they give no EQM bonus for expensive coach fares, and (3) they removed F seats and crammed in extra coach seats, taking the 321s from 26F to 16F and making them uncomfortable to sit in. I was getting upgraded at the gate on my LAX-PHL runs as a CP on A320s with (then) 16F, and figured there was no way I would get upgraded as a GP. Given the choice between (a) a guaranteed E+ seat that would allow me to work and (b) a slim chance at F and the likelihood of 31" pitch, I chose (a).

If I could get exit rows all the time, I might think differently, but there are at most 8 decent exit-row seats vs. a typical 28 or so in E+. They are often taken by the time I get around to booking on CO, though I could usually get them in my year as an AA Plat. And the reason E+ is so empty while E- is full is because UA charges for it; thus, E- will always fill up before people are put in E+ without paying.

It was pretty cool to fly over giants stadium and see a game going on, also the new stadium looks great.

Speaking of new stadia, I just won the jackpot. The seat assignments for the new Giants Stadium just came in yesterday and my pair is in the front row of the mezz. Most exciting because now Franny can see the game with no heads in front of her. :) ^ :)

Good going. ^ I do hope the view from the new mezz level is as good as the soon to be old stadium.

Had to look up my answer to this on my FM - turns out I've had only two middle seats this year: BOS-EWR where I got to the airport early and they offered to put me on the earlier flight for free (for 201 miles, no complaints) and a LAS-EWR Sunday night redeye which I clearly don't remember at all. :)

I've had one. Decided to standby on an earlier RIC-ORD flight to get home one Friday. Not only did I clear, I cleared into an exit row middle.

So, it was a good news/bad news. Bad news being the middle. Good news being the 40+" pitch.

Computer problem, Win XP. My DV camera and computer don't want to cooperate. The computer sees the camera and I can recored to the camera but not take anything off the camera or control the camera. The one thing that is very strange is the the AutoStart menu that pops up when I turn the camera on has nothing in the menu to select. Any ideas?

As usual, +1. I still really don't get why some just go all gaga about E+. It really isn't all that. When there was some seat blocking it was nice, but since you're now packed in like a sardine, I really don't think it is all that great. I know heresy to the UA Can Do No Wrong Crowd.;):D

Get back to me when you're 6'3" and your knees touch the seatback in a 31" pitch seat. :D

Mine do as well, but E+ still isn't all that. I am just an inch and a half less than you :)

E+ is no FC seat, and no better than CO exit row. and you still have to deal with it being UA, which in TX sucks, I can't fly them out of most places I need (check my OF, lots of small places, and not even done)

The good answer: reinstall camera drivers?

The bad answer: malware that spreads via autorun hijacked you?
