First class. You're on UA.

COFreqFlyer takes the prize, although in this case, it's not easy to tell. Before the rollout of the Choice menu this summer, I had a BOB breakfast on LAX-IAD in June while flying in E+ that looked almost identical to this; the main difference was it had a pre-packaged danish instead of the croissant. Other than that, it was pretty much the same.

Not sure why we got the styrofoam coffee cups this morning. The galley had the real ones loaded, and the FA had to move the tray of them twice to get to things in the cart.

The coach plastic tray in first is a little ghetto though. I understand the business about catering meals out of the hub and all, but it does result in a huge difference in the presentation between a domestic F flight departing a hub and one departing an outstation. NW did F catering only at hubs for years and still managed to get everything plated on the same china that was used out of the hubs. CO, DL, and AA all do the same. Apparently these days that's become quite difficult for UA to handle.

Note, using BA miles, you are not entitled to the International Flagship Lounge or Admiral Club in JFK.

Really!? I thought all transcon F pax on AA got lounge access. Thanks for letting me know.

While all the rest of you were preparing for the weekend's MR, partying in Munich, or enjoying a romantic or exciting evening last night, I was enjoying a 30-mile ride in the tow truck bringing my car home. I could not find my keys, and finally, after bewailing my fate to all who would listen, bit the bullet and called AAA.

Of course, this morning, (in the light of day, as they say), I was able to look, and there they were, down between passenger seat and center console, where they fell when I set a notebook on the center console to write something down.

Moral: Never take a cell phone call between the time of removing keys from ignition and leaving the car.

Note, you need to be an AA passenger on a "Z" or "F" ticket:

It might not hurt to try, but it might be problematic.

Edit to Add: I guess if the miles tickets were booked in "Z" which is the award class then you are entitled. Note, the JFK Folks can be a little difficult sometimes as a heads-up.

Rather than start a new thread, another pic from my flight this morning (not me; it was the annoying woman next to me):

http://stevensullivan.smugmug.com/ph...10_29riB-M.jpg

She was asleep like this. I finally had to wake her up 90 minutes into the flight because I desperately needed to get out to the lav. Getting her to put the legs down so I could get out of my seat was accompanied by a huge sigh along with a mumbled "I guess so."

After we landed at DEN, and she couldn't reach her bag in the back of the bin and asked me to reach it for her, I rolled my eyes and mumbled "Huh, I guess so." I'm not sure she even got it.

That's a fascinating photo! I can't get my bearings: what door is that, and what is beyond that door??

I would have the worlds worse case of pins and needles if I did that for any length of time.

How do people sleep like that? My legs won't even stay up, on the wall, without alot of pressure.

Did you try sliding out and going underneath her blanket? :D

Oh, my BA ticket for AA is booked in "Z" class, as Z is the bucket for First Class award tickets on AA flights. So I should be golden -- I think AA is trying to keep the upgraders out the lounge for whatever reason.

I'm curious: if fate or folly had dealt us One World instead of Star, would you have been such a harbinger of the (favorable) big-C word?

That's my question with the lie flat seats....aren't you trapped if you have the window seat?

From my perspective, *A gives you better coverage of Europe and Africa than OW does. It is a "push" as to Asia and the South Pacific. OW is stronger in South America IMHO. I also think that One World Emerald is a better gig than *A Gold in that OW Emerald gives you access to FC Lounges without regard to class of service flown/paid. In North America, *A clearly has a broader reach than OW does. OW Awards are probably some of the best deals out there for redemption opportunities. Finally, elite bonuses are better on OW carriers than *A carriers, but frankly, as much as it pains me to say it, IMHO, ST is actually best on that point. All of this is YMMV.
