@GTITAN, if business is slow, here's an idea for an asset backed securitization: buy a few billion miles from the carriers, with agreement that they pay some amount for redeemed miles on some formula. Liabilities go down, liquidity goes up, legal fees soar.

No credit risk beyond the sponsor (CDS that away) and it's all pure timing tranches.

Looking at points dot com gave me the idea. No consulting fee necessary.

You have just proven yourself qualified to run the Federal Shell Gam... errr, Reserve Bank. Please see the man behind the curtain for your credentials and 8-figure bonus.

Are you suggesting Air Zimbabwe or the warthogs?

Now, there's one Emotional Support Animal that would inject a little life into a pets in cabin thread upon appearance on a CO flight.

Thanks xFF (very slow at the moment, hence heightened FT participation ;)). I will suggest to my clients. When I draft the offering memorandum, I will write a risk factor that disgruntled fliers on FT could potentially have a material negative and adverse impact on the securities.:D

Happy belated b-day.

Beautiful day to fly and look at the leaves. Don't know why we pulled into T-1 today ...

By the time he called he was already on the plane and couldnt change it back to not having a number at all. Is there any chance to fight with CO on this since Egypt Air's systems have not been updated? This trip would have made him Silver on CO and last year he missed silver by 400 miles.

That's okay, when you guys start to talk electronics, the whoosing sound is deafening for me. I remember one ham radio guy that had a post responding to you about turning off TV sets from filtering out 60 Hz from some array or wire coil or something. Clueless, here.

COFreqFlyer Nov 6, 2009 2:41 pm

Note to box: There is presently no *A/UA/US/CO club in the D concourse of BWI. The area near D12 that looks like it used to be a club is presently closed.

So much for getting to the airport early with plans of spending quality time with some hair of the dog that bit me last night.

Yeah, that was SuperG1955. Just so's ya know, 60Hz is the frequency at which US-based electrical systems operate at, so the AC wall jacks in your home run at 60Hz. If you emit a strong signal at 60Hz, you can cancel out the electrical signal, which caused the TV set to power off. Neat stuff if you like RF.

And now there's an AirTran email about points dot com. If these guys are buying the lists from the carriers, then, except for the too-low price, I smell a short.

Flew into T-1 and the SDC opportunity is E-1 - literally the largest possible distance in this hole. So, I'm headed to the E BizElite Lounge.

Yes, I knew about 60 cycle AC, but that was as far as it went.

Since we're doing entrepreneurial brainstorming here, that process has electronic countermeasures weapon written all over it. Too bad the IPO and venture capital markets suck so bad; you guys could be in the defense contract business.

Since we're talking finance and electricity, assuming federal subsidy, IMHO, the next great play in structured finance/securitization/project finance will be in green technology, and in particular selling cash flows from windmills/solar power panels and the like. Where I hope to transition if commercial real estate continues to falter.

Points.com sucks. The conversion rates are not really all that good at all.

It is 3 degrees C in munich. I'm not cold in short sleeves outside. Very worrisome.
