RE North Dakota land.

Some random thoughts, with suggestion to follow them up.

Canola, bison.

"On/Off the grid?"

Groundwater depth, and rights of capture.

Distance to closest commercial airport.

Distance to closest hospital.

I think agricultural land can be a good investment, and if a recreational aspect can by melded in, a great one. But the 3L's of real estate still hold, although more loosely and subject to the above, and other, parameters.

Just random thoughts from someone who did some such analysis a few years back.

The miles from half my US flights this past weekend already have posted to BD, allowing me to move forward with booking a reward.

Thank you. They were really moving, and I think they will be well received by the man to whom I mentioned them. No rush on it at all.

The amount of misinformation is sometimes stunning. Last evening I was told that President Roosevelt, in the Executive Order banning the holding of gold, siezed all safe deposit boxes, which could only be opened in the presence of IRS agents. That from an otherwise, I believed, credible individual. After, I checked the text of the Exec Order, and even found a website with that language attached.

The *REAL* executive order, also available from university/official websites, however, had no such provision. We have to check everything, it seems. Fortunately, with the 'Net, we can.

I would LOVE to think that! Plus1 says it's in internet hoax and I said, that's fine, but our six year old doesn't have internet access. I've asked her four different ways to say the pledge ove the course of the day and it keeps being the same. Perhaps she's confused with something else (possible, she is six), or does she have a rogue teacher? This is Texas, if a Texan were inserted (LBJ, a Bush), I could understand. I've looked the pledge up on the internet and she says it verbatim, she just adds Obama after God. I plan on asking the teacher if there is any validity, without accusing her; again, the kid is 6; they get things mixed up at that age.

One more comment (which of course, is another post ;) ; yes, if it was another state I could buy it; but this is Texas! And it's Ft. Bend; not HISD; so again, I find it hard to believe.

So they did. Nice to see 7,500 miles post for ORD-PHX-GEG. :D

For those of you keeping score at home, an A320 fuselage is 8" wider than a 737. The former's interior is 6" wider than the latter's.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Regardless of the person, I could not understand, and, among others, Jefferson and Madison would be spinning in their crypts. Placing a name --any name, any one, living or dead-- in something like that, be it in a public tax-base run, in a tax-exempt church sponsored, or in any private school receiving any public funds, is not a light matter.

Glacier is incredible, but plan on a trip there mid-summer if you really want to see the park. Much of it under snow for 9+ months of the year, and inaccessible. After the snwo starts to melt it can take months to get the Going to the Sun Road across the park completely open; when we were there in June they were still several weeks away from rebuilding and completely opening a section of the road that spent the winter with 80 feet of snow on top of it. But it is simply one of the best of our national parks, and because it's not the easiest of the mainland US parks to reach, it's not all that crowded and is less developed than some of the others. It's definitely on our list for a repeat visit.

That reminds me, I still need to work on getting the absolutely stunning photos I took on that trip posted.

CRAP. I canceled mine over the weekend after the $442 rate showed up on my reservation. Should have waited.

That's good to know. I was debating it or the tandoori chicken for our trip this month. Odds are my partner will order the veal, so I'll probably get the chicken since we tend to share anyway.

There is, of course, commercial service to Jackson (Hole), WY, and to the town at the southwest gate of Yellowstone, in Montana, the name of which escapes me.
