Me too.

Federal job fairs are interesting. I'm happy to report that there was no line for the TSA people. There was a long line for FAM.

Yeah, it's not terrible commute. It's about 20 minutes by taxi (IIRC, about 25 EUR) or you can take the metro with a transfer or two depending on where you are going in the city.

MAD is a fantastic city but make sure you also play a day outside of the city in Seville or Toledo.

Segovia is another day trip you would appreciate outside of MAD.^

Holy Cow, rental cars in Spain are $110+/day for a super economy (2 person) car. Are these cities outside of MAD reachable by train?

... but they're not going to do anything about it. Cause, you know... paperwork.

Yes. At least from my memory, all of them are. I visited Segovia only, and it was reachable by train, and very walkable.

UA cleared my last upgrade for tomorrow. Now I get to fly over 3,000 BIS miles (and over 6,000 EQMs!!!), all in F or C (two flights on three class 777s), for a single E-500.

Happy upgrade dance time. :D

On a less happy note, my  client, who I'm spending an extra day with today, has a payroll calc process in their system that is totally hosed, so I'm playing on FlyerTalk while the DBA works on diagnosing the problem.

I'm beginning to think I'm doomed to spending a week or two a month for the rest of my life in Baton Rouge working on this never ending disaster of an implementation. At least my annual bonus for 2009 is steadily increasing because of this mess.
