Interesting. I guess I'm thinking of the old ASCII, that of seven bits. All that stuff in the link is, I'm guessing, using the 8th bit, to make codes from 128-255 available.

The stuff you can learn.

I stopped paying attention in class at ascii = 7, ebcdic = 8.:D

Binary is wonderful. E.g., the largest known prime number's binary representation is a string of 43,112,609 1's? NO zeros. All ones.

Just ordered another mojito. We're past CHI and over Michigan somewhere, I think. Seems like just enough time to drink up before landing. :D

And we're about an hour ahead of schedule for arrival. I should get home at a decent hour after all. ^^

At one time in my career (before switching from mathematician to economist), I wanted to seek out Mersenne primes.

Should have heeded your suggestion.

I just wasted 10 minutes of my life. :(

I got to perform my first task at work today. I was so happy I could pee.
