Prepare to be flamed by a small minority of SPG Fanboys on that Forum who consistently take a "The customer is always wrong, and a liar" position regarding any complaints.

The valet signs are usually in Mph, maybe the Canuck responds better to signs using the metric system like Max Speed 7 Km or Arret :-:

Oh yeah, I'm sure it will happen. Especially because I'm "only an SPG Gold."

Haha. Although that doesn't really make sense as Canuck was walking and not driving.

He must be an aspiring GS.

I almost tweeted him back with a basic lesson on how fare buckets work.

That can be confirmed.

It's a good thing she wasn't wearing her snow-shoes. She wouldn't have been so agile in muck-a-lucks.

I feel for you. Stories like this never cease to amaze me. When I was a junior attorney coming up at my law firm, we got it drilled into our head that it was a "service business". When the client said jump, we were to respond (generally) with "how high?" I have little use for folks in the hospitality/service world that don't bust their butts, show graciousness, etc. to their clients/customers.:td::td:

Happened to me when I asked why I was upgraded to an EXECUTIVE ROOM and not given access to the Club Lounge. I'm VERY :rolleyes: on SPG w/r/t gold benefits. At least Hilton specifies what I could be entitled to.

... there are benefits for being SPG gold besides the 50% points and the different key packet?

The sad thing is that, in the end, UA gave in and reduced the fare.

That's not how I read it. I see it as them selling him 3 at the lower fare and 2 at a higher fare, averaging out to more than the lower. In other words, just like it should be.

I don't like that the airlines force everything up into the higher fare automatically rather than splitting it like this as a default, but asking for pricing on three and then changing to five has the potential to result in fare differences.
