CM,I am surprised about israeli military reading form you; in some ways, from a military standpoint they are the best in the world, but it is so intertwined with relgious dogma from the start to today, that you will be hard pressed to not find that in a book about them, and some to a large degree.

It doesn't sound like a Q-Up - too cheap and not enough segments. Oh, that reminds me - I'll go get you that citation on LBJ pulling his hoohoo out.

Flying transcon on US in Y isn't my idea of a fun weekend. Maybe if we found out that they'd be upgrading CO Plats, I'd go for it :D

I forgot all about the LBJ thing but that one sentence would make a good blackmale quote :p

You'd be surprised. Most of what I have read so far has been somewhat dogma-free. If you stick to investigative journalism, the dogmatic thought is not nearly as present as you might think. And you just said yourself why the reading is worth doing: because in many respects they are the best in the world at what they do...Mossad, Sayeret Maktal, Shin Bet, etc. etc. I'm looking for straight facts and not facts clouded with religious thinking, and so far I've been doing pretty well at it. Also on my reading list is Aaron Cohen's bio. This kid grew up in Israel and did his compulsory service, but he served in the unit that went into Palestinian-controlled lands in disguise and carried out small guerrilla rearguard actions. That's got to be riveting reading no matter the parties involved. He has since moved to the States and opened a personal protection service in LA.

I pulled the book but I can't find the actual passage. I'll come up with it eventually.

My statement I sent in had me at 119,000 miles at the time. Should have waited to see if 125K would have gotten me the better DL level. Oh Well!

Good to hear. I have been debating a match and have read some Plats were matched to DL Gold.

Night, Box. Gotta decide which book to start.

I think a vacation is in order; either that or you need some Valium. :D

Good night Box.

I'm off to research a book title for CM. I really should write down the titles of great books that I have read. @:-)

Yep, we're hanging out with him and his wife this weekend.

The 739 tray tables and armrests in Y are flimsy and just feel cheap. I'm not a fan.
