good morning box, another busy day for me.

ARGHHHH. I got screwed by a coworker.:mad::rolleyes:
In other news, Olivia Wilde is now on my list of 5. |
Morning box.
My order number last night at the Kroger deli counter was "666". Not that I'm superstitious or anything... |

Interesting point, but I knew you were (rightfully) on your horse over the foreign visitation vis a vis the Olympics. I agree with you, and saw basically the same thing happening at a lower than national level.
Everyone has taxes on hotels and rental cars. They pay for stadia and the like and that's annoying and stupid, but at least it isn't xenophobic and arrogant. |

The Olympics thing is different, IMO. That is less about the $10 and more about the federal government being a bunch of moronic fools. The government has actively been putting in place policies that dissuade visitors through actions, not just costs.

This post written by a non-coffee-induced Mike. I have to go rectify that injustice immediately. |

Read the UA "free upgrades" thread from beginning to end (appropriately, the last post I read, and one of the most reasoned, before chucking it in was ConciergeMike's). It took them up to post 111 before it began to sink in that maybe this was going to *have to* happen to synch up with CO, in spite of sbm12 putting that straight out many posts earlier. ...

The  of the day...
Our condo complex apparently decided to start re-paving the parking area today. They "notified" us (via a note on our garage door) this past weekend while we were away that all cars needed to be moved by today. Well, we come home tonight and our cars have been towed. Fortunately, they just moved them to a parking lot around the corner (we were lucky to find them) but the notice left on our garage door says that owners are responsible for all towing charges. I'm sure that'll run us a couple hundred dollars...:rolleyes::mad::rolleyes::mad::rolleyes: "Hey, you may not be in town but we're going to tow you even if you don't get this message and you're going to pay" |

No joke. Who thinks that one notification gets the job done in the first place? My development did that crappy respraying of the asphalt and we had notices on the door at least twice, and with a lot more notice. I think we also had a notice at the dumpster enclosure entrance for a while.
