Hope it was a good spaetzle.

Good morning, Box. IAH B Club.

Sorry to hear that Mike.

Thanks for the wishes, all. :-:

Get this: my mother knows a guy who knows a guy who owns some hotels locally. Told to call him and make an introduction, so I do. Come to find out that the company owns the HGI that we were thinking of using for my wedding. Small world. Got a church booked, but need a hotel for visitors, and a reception venue is in the crosshairs but not executed upon.

I wish I could stock up on those PHL runs. If I had a good idea of my situation and had days off to use, I probably would have bought about six of them by now and had 2011 Silver booked...those plus an FLL or two and proposed couples travel = requal.

vhat is this, a master EUA thread started on Nov 6th. We leave the box for less than a week and there are  everywhere.

PHL is a great city to do MRs out of. The WN effect.

Is this CO or UA? Any special routing??

The first round was okay. The second, was rather .

However, Ich liebe Bretzel Brötchen. On CO or LH.

There is a thread in MR Deals. PHL-IAH-PHX same day, 4666 EQM without DEQM, 164.90ai. Jan/Feb 2010 has a few good Tue/Wed/Sat same days and one-nighters. Don't do UA unless you can get a real freaky routing, because CO.com offers it thru DEN only at a penalty of about 500 miles vs. IAH.

The sushi box was quite good.

Looks like NW doesn't have the only pilots who don't pay attention.

Yeah, because pulling the gear handle and seeing those three little green lights is minor in the grand scheme of things.

While my sample point is quite limited, as I have only flown LH once which was in the business class cabin, CLT-MUC-BCN-MUC-CLT, I actually found the flight attendants to be quite personable. It probably helped that I speak pretty good German, and tried not speak any English with them if it could be avoided.

One other thing I will say, and again, I have a limited scope here. I have flown AF, KLM, CX and LH, and we hear from many how much better that FAs are on foreign carriers than on their legacy American counterparts.

I could not disagree more. I have had FAs on legacy American carriers that could be considered nothing less than outstanding. They're every bit as good as the flight attendants I had in CX F. What I will say is that legacy American FAs can run the gambit, but I hate it when they get dimissed out of hand.

IMO, at $0.035/EQM, the PHL-PHX deal is decent but nothing out of this world. I prefer the sub-$200 SEA and SMF fares for about $20 more; unfortunately, these seem to be missing this year. :(

If I needed it for another status level, I'd definitely go for it but otherwise I'll pass.

I will say that about LH. They do a really good job of rotating their long-haul menus and featuring different regional cuisines on a monthly basis. They usually tie it in to some global event (Olympics, World Cup, etc.).

On CO, if you're going to Europe, you know your choice is going to be:
  • Overcooked steak with mushrooms
  • Chicken stuffed with cheese and mushrooms
  • Pasta stuffed with mushrooms
  • Halibut in a broth with mushrooms

With minor variations this is all you ever get. Although apparently the Indian Chicken dish has been making random appearances on EU flights.
