I don't know the full schedule, but since CM will be on an international J ticket, doesn't he receive lounge access at the origination point?

It's not same day international J.

Technically that sort of membership is not deductible as a personal expense, even if you travel most of the time on business.

You get around it by arranging to have the company pay for it but the deduction belongs to it rather than to you. Of course, if you are the company and it is a pass-through entity, that takes care of the tax question.

I mentioned it to my accountant last year and he said it shouldn't be a problem claiming it as a 'non-reimbursed business expense'. I bought a 3-year this year and was going to up that to the lifetime next year. He said it would hold up if I got audited.

I do need to go to 21st Admendment as a friend of mine is the Chef/Owner!!

+1 for US Lounges in general. With cash bars and paid Internet, RCCs are quite , IMO.

Although, with the long(ish) walk to the US lounges at PHL vs. the RCC, I might actually go with waiting in the terminal.

RCCs will be able to give us internet cards as they do for their members. At least that is what happened on Sunday at LGA!

I agree with others that the Tweeter guy misunderstood you. For that matter, I don't think any airline day pass is usuable at other airlines, but I could be wrong.

Just hang outside the door and flash your pass to the first person going inside. Make a little trade: become their guest for a PC pass.

ROFLMAO!!! Just don't flash any more as you may get arrested.

BTW, remember that the sooner you change from 3-Yr to Life the more of the membership you save. Thus you may save more with CO by changing membership now than the taxes you would save next year.

BART doesn't even operate until 5:30am, IRC.

I'd get a new accountant. Seriously. The IRS has published guidelines stating in rather certain terms that lounge memberships are not deductable.

Just one of many citations is here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/20474252/T...-9781413307825. Search for the word "airline" and you'll see it.

ETA: Here is a post on FT that has the actual code citation:

Then we'd be up a creek without a paddle. Cab prices in SFO = :td: so I'll be staying by the airport.

ConciergeMike Oct 29, 2009 4:52 pm

I might not need to use a lounge; I'm just checking. I may have no other airport dropoff option than 9-10am for a 4pm flight. Told my fiancee that I would leave her a spare set of car keys, and one of her sisters could run her to the train station to fetch the car. She claimed that her sisters would give her crap about ferrying her to a train station that is less than 10 miles away.

:-: Good point.

IIRC, reports on that Westin are not too good though. For one night, it may have to do.

I want to come back to the box!!!

I want to come back to the box! But I need a bit of help...

We have recently moved to a slightly bigger place (due to the upcoming arrival of Ms. Enmascarado Jr.), but finally out of campus. When living on campus, we had blazing fast internet access for free, but now it is time to grow up, and get my own home internet access. And there is where I would like your help...

We do not watch much TV, and we are not thinking about getting cable. So what should we do for internet? Comcast? AT&T? Any other options I should consider? Any experiences or recommendations will be welcome.

I need to get internet access at home soon, to play in the box more often! I miss you guys!

There's a 4P close by as well.

If you are able to get U-Verse, go with that.

@continental just said no - but if US is dumb enough to admit me, good on them.
