Congrats! I got it for that very flight (but NOT the return) last weekend. The snow should have stopped falling just in time for you.

I *ALMOST* had EWR-ORD(UA)-NRT(NH)-BKK-SYD(TG)/PER-BKK(LAX(TG)-JFK(UA) booked, all of them had space.

Then they said it was an illegal routing. Why? EWR-ORD-NRT-BKK was breaking the mileage allowed. She said they could book me on EWR-ORD-BKK. At which point I kindly pointed out that the ORD-BKK flight is actually ORD-NRT-BKK. She didn't have an explanation.

If ORD-NRT-BKK on UA is a continuation flight under the same flight number, UA only counts the ORD-BKK nonstop distance as the distance flown. Also, when booking a :-: RTW, these continuation flights only count as 1 segment against the 16 segment limit. :-:

Excellent. Looks like it will be you, me, Hartmann and sdm1130. I'm sure their wives will be pleased to know that adult supervision will be on hand. :D

Personally, I'm more concerned about the group now that sfogate has joined the party.:D

Oh, and g'day, Box!:-:

ALCO - The BD 55K plus rule how does it convert the excess mileage ?
I thought it takes the earning rate at 1:1 and thats where you get the 600%

UA A fare at 3X + 3X 55K bonus plus the 25% ?

Why would LH C only earn 225 % if is already earning at 2X without the 55K bonii ?

Anglo Large Clawed Otter Oct 29, 2009 1:50 pm

fozz, couldn't you also just originate the award from ORD? I realize the entire itinerary isn't "free" that way, but aren't NYC-ORD flights fairly inexpensive?

After 55K Status Miles, Status Miles are converted into Destinations Miles, thus doubling your earnings on any given fare. The 25% is teh Gold Bonus on base-mileage.

Copa was asking about how LH would earn in C with BD, IIRC. As he would not have crossed the 55K threshold, he would only earn 200%, actually (as he wouldn't be a Gold to start with, so also wouldn't get teh Gold bonus).

My first experience with a RCC person was at LGA and I had a great experience. Not only did I get in on Sunday but I also got a wireless card to access the free Wi-Fi. Does anyone know if we are going to always have to get a card for WiFI or if we will be able to use our PC number like the RCC Members do?

Oh I thought someone else asked how much LH C would earn after crossing
55K, and I was scared when I read your answer. So I should earn @ 425%
if my flights credit properly.

Yes. If you are 55K+ as a Gold, you will earn 425% on LH C.

Yup, 425% RDMs if you are over 55K already in your program year, like this:
Code:

Trip Value Calculator
Routing: JFK-FRA
COS Bonus: 300% (Status & RDM); Elite Bonus: 25% (RDM Only)
From |To  |Actual|Base  |EQMs  |RDMs  |
JFK  |FRA  |3855  |3855  |15420 |16384 |
  TOTALS: |3855  |3855  |15420 |16384 |
Powered by The Wandering Aramean

But you can ignore the EQMs column since that is maxed out.

I'm banking on 225% RDMs and 200% Level Miles. It should look like this for the party flight:
Code:

Trip Value Calculator
Routing: JFK-FRA
COS Bonus: 100% (Status & RDM); Elite Bonus: 25% (RDM Only)
From |To  |Actual|Base  |EQMs  |RDMs  |
JFK  |FRA  |3855  |3855  |7710  |8674  |
  TOTALS: |3855  |3855  |7710  |8674  |
Powered by The Wandering Aramean

My return trip to LAX gets me this:
Code:

Trip Value Calculator
Routing: MUC-LAX
COS Bonus: 100% (Status & RDM); Elite Bonus: 25% (RDM Only)
From |To  |Actual|Base  |EQMs  |RDMs  |
MUC  |LAX  |5989  |5989  |11978 |13475 |
  TOTALS: |5989  |5989  |11978 |13475 |
Powered by The Wandering Aramean

I got 9099 on the Hawaii run over the weekend and I'll get the 15K for the charter. That puts me at 43787 miles so far in my program year only 30 days in to it.

I forgot to add... the waiver that you have to sign for teh DO contains a clause stating that if your FlightMemory is chronically incomplete, you will not earn miles on your DO flights. :-:

I would be in the same ballpark if my MSP-GEG flights from two weeks ago would post.

I'd rather Tweet a question than sit on hold with OPSC for 15 minutes.
