I hope you're right. But no one is more imperious than he who once had an empire.

Please let us know if you do see SFO rates drop to these levels. I will do the same.

I believe the LM is already at $129 (prepaid) for that Saturday evening. I made a placeholder refundable reservation ($159), as I'm curious to see what the W's pricing does in coming months. The LM is almost always dirt-cheap in winter, as is the Palace Hotel.

My client has just spent a full hour discussing classification for 15 librarians and IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System) reporting categories. This is not that hard. My head feels like it's on the verge of explosion. I think I'm going to go crazy and jump out the window of this fourth floor conference room.

They lost their empire long ago, they just haven't gotten the memo yet.

I enjoy SFO too much as a destination to just do a turn. I'd rather have a day to enjoy it. By the time SPG starts discounting February reservations, it should be possible to score the Le Meridien, W, or Westin for $99-$129/night.

Which of those SPG properties do you recommend? I'm looking at my options there for a conference I should be attending in April.

I'm a big proponent of letting the animals be animals in National Parks. I understand having to euthanize an animal such as a bear when it has attacked a human, but I'm more in favor of teaching humans not to be stoooopid. Here in the Adirondacks, there's a well known bear who has learned to open up the bear proof food cannisters.

Think of the UA folks as the old crotchety folks that despise change. They just need to feel that someone heard their roar and then they quiet down and go hide in the corner when they realize they don't matter.

It thrills me that the UA people are still crying.

The LM has been the most generous to me with upgrades. W was sold out when I stayed, so that may not have been a good test for upgrades. Have not stayed at the Westin, and am not a huge fan of The Palace (surly staff, no upgrade).

I think the Westin, Palace, and W are the only ones on our room block, which I have to book under. I'm learning toward the W.

It's not hard - I even know my CIP codes for my discipline and courses.

Wonder if I can get away with using a Tip Jar? I could have two signs:
How much is your bag worth to you.
How much is that upgrade gonna cost you.

Since I'm going to be accused of losing your bags and playing shenanigans, I might as well add "entitled" to my job title.

;)

:D

You could probably double your salary with that alone :D
