The meals on DL were not as bad as I was expecting. I had pasta and pizza and it was ^ for a coach meal.

Brit, you can do JFK-ZRH this weekend for under $300 on DL. No hotel needed as you do a straight turn. Out Sat night and back Sunday night.

Bugger. I have plans this weekend. But it's not so bad I guess, I really don't need any extra miles this year - OMG did I just say that - because I'm already at 135,000k EQMs on CO.

It's next year I want to start banking miles for.

Same here. It's probably going to hit during an insanely busy time for me at work this year.

It's in there under the preferences someplace. I know I found it once, a year or two ago, and turned it on to see what my map looked like. I hated it, so I turned it off.

DL's seats look a heckuva lot tighter that CO's seats :-:

Or pasta. UA loves the mixture of three kinds of stuffed pasta on the same tray in trans-Atlantic Y. It's the same meal I've seen in long-haul domestic F dinner on UA, but served on plastic instead of china. Apparently my foodie partner still has nightmares about that dinner, as well as the overcooked to the point they were crunchy pancakes we had on the return of the same trip.

But, as you pointed out, the product wasn't selected for the food. It was selected for the fare mistake and E+ leg room.

On a related note, the best international coach meal on CO, by far, is the Hindu Vegetarian (also non-dairy). It tends to be spicy, and one must enjoy Indian food to prefer it to the regular Y options, but it is, IMO, much higher in quality than the regular Y selections. It usually consists of two different types of stewed/curried beans and lentils, as well as basmati rice, in a tray, accompanied by a plain iceberg lettuce salad with an non-dairy dressing, plus a wheat roll with margarine and some sort of non-dairy dessert.

Does it book in to a deep discount bucket? So only 50% EQMs on DL.

Yep, they are. I've flown on a few of DL's 767s in the back and it's not pleasant. In fact, it's worse than CO. It's one of the many reasons I rarely fly The World's Largest Airline  despite my current home airport being ATL.

Howdy, box! Howdy box brethren!

Been a long time... I've been out of the travel gig for a while. Flew to SFO this past weekend. Man I had forgotten what coach was like in a non-exit row!

Flew up on ship 422. Very nice and new, but the video system was completely inop.

Yeah, me too. Last year, I finished in seventh place, and I would hope to make a good showing this year, as well. Of course, there is always the post-in-the-evening-until-you-fall-asleep method, but it's more fun when many of your PWP colleagues are posting at the same time so that you can chit chat about airlines, hotels, rental cars, and other stuff rather than just posting random things.

That actually sounds pretty good. I don't ever plan on flying long-haul Y on CO, but if it happened, I'll definitely keep that meal in mind.
