I'll go to the corner now. I couldn't resist. The DL folks were actually defending the horrible operation at JFK.

I prefer ua tatl y food to co's tatl y food. At least with UA you get a green salad, not the yellow one CO serves.

I've still yet to encounter a non-fresh salad on CO. Granted I don't see them that often in Y, and when I do, it's domestic.

"The DL folks" engaging in this action sure as hell don't include me.

How can they defend that mess?

Of course, they also defend the operation at their other hubs too, some of which are nearly as bad as JFK.

Last time I flew my partner out to meet me someplace for the weekend, I booked him on DL using miles. It was the only option to get him to ABQ at a reasonable time on Friday night to meet me, without him having to take off from work on Friday. When he checked in at ATL, his flight was leaving out of the B concourse. He went to that gate. A few minutes after she arrived at the gate, the agent working the flight made an announcement that the flight was delayed due to a mechanical issue. 30 minutes went by and an announcement was made that the flight had moved to the E concourse. He made the trip over there. A new gate agent shows up. Time goes by, no plane at the gate. After 30-45 minutes, a new gate change announcement is made. The flight is now departing from the original gate in the B concourse. He goes back there. Still no plane at the gate. Then comes an announcement that the flight is departing from the A concourse. He's now really ticked, and has started up a conversation with a fellow passenger, and they're both going on about how unpleasant DL is to fly on, and how this kind of stuff happens to both of them on nearly every DL trip. They get to A, wait a few, and then the announcement is made that the flight is departing the T concourse. By this point everyone is really upset. They all go over to T, where fortunately there is a 757 at the gate, and boarding commences shortly. After four gate changes in just over 90 minutes, they depart.

This is then followed by the DL meal of the year — a cold sub sandwich or salad, which appears to be the only thing DL's caterers are capable of making for a domestic flight that isn't a true transcon these days. But, because of the delays, and the lack of adequate refrigeration of the sandwiches, the flight attendants advise passengers against them, saying "They didn't smell too good when we unwrapped them." Apparently his salad wasn't much fresher.

I heard about all this most of the drive from ABQ to Santa Fe that evening. He hasn't flown DL since.

Yeah, i just don't get the English requirement, we are after all a global community.

While I'm all for English being the universal language, it doesn't mean we should be stifling the others.

Offline now.

Lets start one. I was thinking of buying FXE which is an ETF that tracks the Euro v. Dollar to hedge my ATH trip next summer back when the Euro was at 1.30 but if the Euro is over 1.50, and it is close, I just refuse to go.
