That said - the FS Marriott is larger, more services, more Marriott. The Renaissiance used to be a different hotel chain. The Renaissance adjoins a marginal residential neighborhood, hence more security in the parking garage etc. The clientele seem a little more upscale at the FS Marriott versus the Renaissance - but just my perception. |

Windows 3.11? I was thinking it was a DOS terminal.
Seriously, a good portion of a certain AAirline's ops are still run on AT&T PCs. Remember when ATT used to make PCs? |

United does upgrades on distance between origin and destination.
EWR is the origin, ORD is the destination. 719 miles. They have a 50 mile threshold. So you can upgrade up to a 550 mile trip with a single e500... 0-550 miles - 1 e500 551-1050 miles - 2 ... So, since 719 is in the range of two, i have to cash-in two of 'em. |

One of AA's current published specials is ORD-YUL, $273 each way before taxes ...

Well, it's my first time to China, so I won't be too picky. I'm working in Guangzhou, but I've got a weekend there, hence the Hong Kong side trip. ^ Almost got to tag on a day in Shanghai, but I'll probably get it next year.

I'm the opposite. I once dated a virgin. Never again. She also refused to come to my house toward the end of the relationship because she hated my mother. Therefore, I have traveled for bad sex.

Are you flying into Guangzhou or HKG? HKG is a great place to visit. And I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer on Guangzhou - but it is huge, polluted and dirty. However your host can probably find some fabulous food establishments and seriously... they have some great food there - we really screw Asian food up here in the States. :)

I was "seeing" a girl that lived in London in 2001 and would travel across the Atlantic for a periodic booty call. We would meet in random EU cities because it was so cheap to travel after 9-11 (:o). Flew to MAD for Thanksgiving and ended up getting a roofie, which had been intended for my friend. Ruined the weekend.

What fun. We just spent 30-45 minutes here working on figuring out how to set up some "special" employee who has all kinds of weird stuff going on so that he'd get paid correctly. We finally got it all done, and he's calculating correctly…
…And just now the Assistant HR Director received an e-mail stating that the employee we spent a third of the morning dealing with had resigned.

I just realized we joined fairly close to each other. How long did you lurk before taking the plunge and signing up? I was a lurker since sometime in October or November of 1999, but it took a few years before I decided to do more than just read the posts here.

I did lots of lurking before posting. My posting was quite slow at first. I started on the UA board and the UA board isn't the easiest board to post on ;)
