Greetings from aboard AA21 over Illinois right now.

I find the most "retro" feature of this 23-year old 762 are the switches for the audio. Haven't seen these mechanical dials for channels 1 to 12 for at least 15 years...

Those small overhead bins are just pitiful.

Time for me to say Good Night Box.

Gotta be up early for class.

Yes I am. I'm here until Wednesday night. I'm in class from 8am-4:30pm at IAH terminal E, right next to Gordon's Galley.

If I didn't have class (from whence I am posting now) each of these nights, I would "buy" you a Charlierinha at the C South PC. My condolences on your arrival into teh Pit. I trust you are enjoying the first day of "Fall."

Song lyric of the day:

sfogate, since you're in Teh Pit, this one's for you....name that tune (hint....this is the second verse):

If you're ever in Houston, well, you better do the right;
You better not gamble, there, you better not fight, at all
Or the sheriff will grab ya and the boys will bring you down.
The next thing you know, boy, Oh! You're prison bound.

CHORUS

First one to name it gets a gold star (no search engines allowed)

ALSO, SFOGate:
I will be arriving in the pit on CO249 tomorrow night(7:30ish), I only have 1.5 hours to get over to Terminal A, but I could hit C south quickly ;)

sfogate - I've flown transcon quite a few times this year, on AA, DL and last Saturday your "home-town" airline of VX.

I think it is a good thing for CO because I shop for the cheapest fare. When I am not flying CO on transcon, that means they're able to keep the fares high enough and not compete with these ~$109 o/w fare I'm getting...

That was odd. I've never met you yet I had very disturbing mental images.

I did take one to send to TheCanuck to find out if she had sent the CanIA after me.

Found a good Indian place for supper. Retreated back to the hotel where I had a $12CAD Stella. Not the most expensive beer I've ever had* but enough to make me want to punch myself in the side of the head.

I'd like to leave the Box this evening with these parting words: Bros before Timmy Hos.

*Miagi's on Sunset in Hollywood holds that distinction. $20 for a Sierra Nevada. I set my g/f at the time on super-flirt mode to get us drinks after that point. Needless to say, the night ended in an unmitigated disaster. And is reason number 8752987230982340823049832048320482 why I hate LA.

Haha. I love this:

Whoever posted that on FB is a testament as to why drunk/high FB posting should be a crime.
I'm shocked to learn that TG is junking their 345's. That's incredible to me. I thought US was a serious shopper? I guess the range/capacity mix was overkill for their intended PHL - HEL routes.

ConciergeMike Sep 21, 2009 7:44 pm

US wanted an A340-family something to run PHL-PEK or PVG, and then they proceeded to  for too long and lose the route authority, no?

No, they have until next March to start the route. If they don't start it by then they will lose it. Probably around the start the year they will ask for extension on the start date and it will probably be granted (I think).

Unless scrap value > operating value. It is like the A318, it was driven out of the market by the E-Jets and F9 scrapped a 2 year old A318.

Why is not FT matching all the airlines with a double post count offer? :-: I'd like a boost to FT elite. @:-)
