There is a DME-KBP-PRG routing on UN and VV that operates at decent times for the IAH-DME flight. I have no idea what airline UN is or how ridiculously expensive such a fligth would be. Plus, no time to stop in KBP for a stamp.

Code:

Timetable -- DME-PRG for date: 201001151500 on carrier All Airlines
Carrier|Flight|From |To  |Dep. Time|Arr. Time|Schedule|Equipment|Duration|Exceptions|
UN    |201  |DME  |KBP  |17:50    |18:10    |-2-45-7 |735      |4:35    |          |
^^VV  |1209  |KBP  |PRG  |19:15    |20:25    |        |EQV      |        |          |
Powered by The Wandering Aramean

Other connections are more pedestrian, including VIE, FRA, etc.

I also did LAX-HKG and back on UA, which I believe they cut.

I recently dropped about $200 on new laptop batteries — one for the second drive bay on my laptop where I've never had a battery (it's a dual purpose battery/media drive bay and has always had the DVD-ROM drive installed there) and a larger battery for the main battery bay. Net result is that I've now got about 7-8 hours of battery life with Wi-Fi turned off, and about 6.5-7 hours if the Wi-Fi is turned on and the screen isn't dimmed much. That should last me through any domestic flight with no power ports, and the ability to at least partially recharge on layovers for crazy mileage run trips. Next week I put it to the test with IAD-LAX on UA. In the past I've not been able to keep my computer on for that entire flight, because the combination of my old battery that the laptop came with plus a small external supplemental battery I had, was only good for a max of about 3.5-4 hours of use.

So, except for the occasional 772 swap, IAH-EZE will suck in BF longer than most routes.

It could suck more. BF on a 762 still beats Y on any plane for a route of that length.

I am currently in Chase attempting to open a new account. The guy I am dealing with is an idiot. First he told me I can't do it since I already have a Chase account. Then he says it has to be the Preferred card and then he tells me I have to have a 100 direct deposit.

I wonder how this will all end.

Yeah , I think CX is the only airline flying that route.
I did JFK-EZE on UA before it was cut, but AA still flies that route 2x daily

I just realized that Teh SQ flight gets in at 01:30pm, not 04:30pm (that's when it leaves Houston). That actually opens up a lot of connection options to PRG. Still probably best to leave on Thursday and return on Tuesday (as we wouldn't get in to PRG until late Friday with the DME routing).

As a frequent traveler of that route , I can say with confidence, that you are 100 % correct. I have done that in Y a few times and it is Zero Fun.

Not really. Most of the domestic fleet does not have power, you were just lucky.

The only times you are sure to be with a power equipped plane is on PS or International 767, 777 and 747s.

And on the international fleet, it's only up front. Nothing on UA has it in Y, which I find very annoying.

However, with new batteries, I've decided to ditch the EmPower adapter completely. I so rarely fly on any plane anymore that I need it that it was sitting home for most trips. So, I sold the thing last week on Ebay.

The article I linked claims that MD does not even have a Castle Doctrine, and after reading what you linked I would tend to agree. The fact that the state expects you to flee your property rather than defend it (and by extension, yourself and your family) is absolutely ludicrous to me. If the government does not provide a reasonable expectation of punishment-free defense of your home, by default what it does is embolden the bad guys.

WALKING THE DOG:

A woman was flying from Seattle to San Francisco. Unexpectedly, the plane was diverted to Sacramento along the way.. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft the plane would re-board in 50 minutes.

Everybody got off the plane except the one lady who was blind. The man had noticed her as he walked by and could tell the lady was blind because her Seeing Eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of her throughout the entire flight.

He could also tell she had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached her, and calling her by name, said, 'Kathy, we are in Sacramento for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?' The blind lady replied, 'No thanks, but maybe Buddy would like to stretch his legs.'

Picture this:

All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a Seeing Eye dog! The pilot was even wearing sunglasses. People scattered.

They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines!
