You'd need a transit visa and a max of $200 for a car transfer. Probably closer to $150. You could do it by train/metro for far, far less.

Yes, and I'm sure the train/metro would be barrels of fun with luggage in the dead of the Russian winter.

I can only think of two routes on my map that don't exist anymore. EWR-COS and EWR-ORY on CO.

I also did LAX-HKG and back on UA, which I believe they cut.

UA only flew that for a few months before cutting it. Same with JFK-HKG.

I have lots of routes that are gone, on any carrier, most notably:

IAH-LGW
HKG-HNL
DCA-IAD
etc...

Well, at least one is coming back - IAH-YEG! Yeah!

I think the funniest defunct route I have is AUS-SJC, aka the "Nerd Bird".

Reminds me of BWI-IAD (and I lived near IAD).

And forgot ELM-ITH.

ETA: Just ran that through ITA. Here's one of the sample warnings:

long layover,
tight connection,
7 prop plane segments
Where's that ill emoticon?

Let's go Devils! :-:

(I was wrong about the group game - it's Dec. 12th vs. Philly.)

I think so too. I think you'd be crazy to transit MOW and not at least see something. Transit via train would certainly be a schlep. I'd do it, though, for the adventure. Actually, I'd probably take a marshrutka between the airports and the metro. That's a bit extreme, though.

I think I might provide revenue to Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary Dairy Queen this evening given that I have to drive to the laundromat to wash laundry (no sewer line repair with today's rain). First, I have to get out of the office and find some bins or baskets to carry clothes.

Baglady - hope you are doing well!

That reminds me...

I have ROC-SYR from when DL used to fly that as a triangle route out of ATL. I did not book it that way often, but I know I did at least once while in college. Sadly, I do not have accurate records that far back so I cannot add it to my map.

Wow -- sorry to hear that you have to schlep to a laundromat -- that sucks!

Got a 'message' from someone on 'Netlog' -- social networking site that I joined only for the purpose of friending a musician friend. So, some guy sends the note -- has foto already attached to profile & states; "I am a 49 y. o. black male...' duh, I have eyes -- can clearly see that said person is black!:rolleyes: I am not into situations where the discussion starts w/the obvious! I guess I've spent too much time on the B:rolleyes:X!:D

So, I sent back a polite note saying that I'm 'in a relationship' (even though it's not really quite that...yet!;)). I am so not into anything that even resembles an on-line dating site!:rolleyes:
