You did not just say that. Are you becoming a US whore?
So US doesn't serve meals in F on just about anything except Transcons... There will be meals on CLT-HNL. My experience of US catering on both DCA-PHX and PDX-PHL was excellent. The food was on par with what CO serves in F. Granted, CO will likely still have an edge with its BF-Style catering on the HNL route, but until CO gets fully-flat seats on its 767s, US will have the better :-: Alliance Seat to HNL. |

The lieflat CO seats are not yet being considered for the 767 fleet, IIRC. I thought the 76's were getting passed over for seat install in hopes that Teh Unicorn will arrive by then.

I have made numerous, diligent, attempts to learn how to use an iron. They've all ended up in burns to my skin or hotel fires. :o

Has anyone flown US Helicopter? I took a trip from 34th Street to EWR yesterday because of the $59 special that CO is running. I'm not sure how they stay in business. The experience was very cool (first time I was in a helicopter) but there was only one other pax other than me. The next flight only had 1 person booked (the women working there were discussing it). If anyone can do it, I recommend the trip. It was very fast (5 minutes) and I was dropped off at a gate directly across from my EWR-SFO flight. The F flight attendant clearly did not want to be doing her job. She wasn't rude but everything that she did seemed like a real effort.

I did just say that. Would you rather be in: (1) a UA domestic 777 ORD-HNL with regular domestic F seats, and disgusting Charlie Trotter menu choices, or (2) a new US 767 Envoy angled-flat seat with their good catering and delicious premium cocktails (The Pomegranate Martini is excellent!)?

I'm glad to hear you say that US's catering was good. They had very good food even in Y way back when, but it's been since 2001 that I was on a US flight with a meal of any sort. I still find their domestic F product pretty bleh overall, but the longest flight I've flown it on was CLT-IAH, and that was on a very ratty 734. |

It is a TON of fun and highly recommended. I'm tempted to do it on Friday for a 1:45pm flight out, though I'd have to get one for my wife, too. That would up the cost a bit, but it would still be a lot of fun. Is there an advance purchase rule on the $59 deal? ETA: never mind. Earliest flight is now 1:30pm. :td: |

764s will get the seats.
Interestingly, everything except the 772s is scheduled to finish the deployment in August 2012. I wonder if there is a good reason for that or if they're just taking their time on it. |

Lesson Number 2: unplug the iron when done. I had to learn to iron my own camo uniforms, and of course in an act of spite aimed squarely at me on the part of the Department of Defense, the Air Force gets a uniform that does not require ironing after I leave. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airman_Battle_Uniform |

The 734s are getting much-needed overhauls inside. My FLL-DCA and PHL-FLL were operated on refurbished 734s, and the F cabin was fine. My biggest gripe with US is lack of in-seat power in F. If they keep giving away the farm with Q-UPs, I'm going to need to buy another laptop battery. :D

The refurbished 734's are actually pretty nice in F. Is that fare also available from PBI?
