I have a not-completely hypothetical question. Let's say a PAX is in the PC at T-30. Can a PC agent see the same things that the GA is seeing regarding the standby list, and, if so, can the PC agent in a sense "preempt/assist/augment" the GA by giving out the upgrade to the PAX (s)he is watching, assuming it is warranted? Or is such a thing impossible or verboten?

Yes the PClub agents can see the same thing gate agents see. And if they see that customers have been upgraded they are more than welcome to re-issue the new boarding pass/

I have been known to call the SFO PClub to ask the agents to pass out new boarding passes so that the customers are aware of their new seat assignments, if I do this an hour or two before flight time.

The PClub agents will not be allowed to do the actual upgrading. At the T-30 mark the gate agent should be locking down all computers except for the gate ones.

They're never allowed to do that, are they? And a follow-up "protocol" question: Does a good, professional GA have any annoyance if contacted by the PC regarding an impending or potential upgrade, or with the BP being handled by the PC?

I've encountered her three times now and all three times I received a battlefield and had to leave my :rolleyes:aboard back at the exit row. When we start our decent I'll downgrade myself so I don't have to go against the flow to get to my bag when we arrive at the destination.

The only people that should be handling the battlefield upgrades are the Red Coat in charge of the area/flight and/or the gate agent.

I don't have any problem with the PClub agents calling me with questions about the potential for upgrades or the flight itself. Gate agents have more up to date information about the flight, possible mis-connects and a 6th sense about what's happening. No one should mind being asked a question or receiving help with passing out new boarding passes.

Yes we can if we pull up your one pass account. I know there are other entries that can do the same thing, I just don't have them committed to memory but the PClub uses those entries.

I don't remember if your OP account will tell me if you are a :-: or not. If you are flying, the FA prelim report and final report will indicate this information.

I have been absent for a few weeks. I've had the month from he!! working - it's been miserable, dreadful, wicked (awful, not awesome) and I'm so glad I can stay home next week and catch up with all my reports.
