Looks like I get a new airline and line this week, CAK-LGA on Airtran. Makes for an early early morning, but the direct flights for $600 less than CO are hard to pass.

You spending any time here in town? Dinner?

Is it the lack of FT that's causing a compression of posts that were spread out or is there a sudden rise in GA shenanigans posts?

Bummer. On the plus side, you can sing the Beatles song all day long.

My fiancee's parents actually got me something off my wanted list for my birthday. They, unlike other parental units that I'm thinking of, understand the concept of getting someone something that they really want.

it took a phone call to each line from soem '3rd party verifier' and then it just happened.

Took a couple days for me but that was in the early days of number porting - one phone could call out but calls came into the other.

Not bad -- small and cosy and not much larger then the SEA PC. But they had Crown and Goose for self pour :o which made me a happy customer.

The old one was...IIRC DFW was (one of?) the last airport built with security not planned -- that's why you have those crecent moon things as that design lent itself to high curb accessibility. And to be fair to the pit of DFW, if we could still just drive up and walk onto the flight their design would have been great! But like sands through the hour glass...

Anyways when they had to put in security they adapted the employee train that ran to all the terminals (plus all the other admin/support facilities within the core of the DFW complex.) At the time I want to say that it was one of the first automated trains and for what it was, it was pretty nifty. It always reminded me of the train from Black Mesa if you ever played half-life. The downside of the train was that it only ran in one direction, so god help you if you needed to go one terminal upstream, it was pretty jerky and of course a certiAAn Dallas based carrier decided to slap their oh-so-cute marketing nonsense onto it.

Since then the trAAin has been decommissioned, terminal D was rebuilt into a fantastic facility (snapped pics from my current MR as I'm at DFW right now heading to FRA and will post when I get back) and now the SkyLink connects all the half-moons and runs both directions behind security with regular intervals.

A FT'er over on the AA Forum has proposed that said Forum should have its equivalent to teh B:rolleyes:x. As someone that reads/posts with fair frequency in the AA Forum and is familiar with the "culture" over there, I really have to wonder if the concept would really work ........

How can they have a lounge thread when they are not welcoming to new people in their main forum? Bzzzzzt. Wrong answer.
