The AA Board right now is having a debate over AA's lack of "official presence" to FT is bad or good thing for AA and/or FT. I offered an opinion having had some experience with official FT liaisons from time to time. I posted that if you get an official presence like CO Insider and/or the old NW Scoop that is certainly a huge plus and probably serves both the needs of FT as well as provides useful information to the related airline.

However, I warned them given the corporate culture, given the size and the "nature" of the AA Board, more likely than not, they would have an official presence along the lines of old "DL" (remains to be seen if the new SMI (who is the old NW Scoop) will be any better). If your liaison just engages in a long series of "hit and runs" and just ends up (whether intentionally or otherwise) acting as an "antagonist" to the community, then IMHO (as I told them), I actually think no presence is better.
