There's a brown plastic box about 3" x .5" by .25" affixed to the top of the curtains in my hotel room, all the way in the corner. The box has a black cable coming out of the back that is snaked into the wall.

There are a couple random holes in the box that would not marry with anything I can put my finger on.

What on earth could this thing be? I tried to yank it off its perch and it's firmly up there, but I can move it around. It's a little too obvious to be a camera, but that's what it kinda looks like. Either that or it's some sort of bizarro wi-fi box.

Anyone have any ideas?

It's a temperature sensor. Mystery solved.

I would have just danced naked in front of it for about 20 mins, then checked to see if I got any strange looks on check-out. :-:

Too bad I've got a DFW-MIA run on NW planned, else I'd be all over that one. Have been wanting to visit UIO for a while. It is a featured destination in this month's Budget Travel Magazine.

Also was in Sisterhood of Traveling Pants 1 & 2. Good plane movies.

Haven't seen the second, but the first is the kind of movie I'd like my daughters to watch when they're teenagers.

Mine (such as they are) have posted too, unlike my DEQMs for CO which have not posted correctly (two segments in AN didn't post).

Meanwhile, I have to take an intra-European flight next month; ordinarily, we fly C ex-US and the clients don't complain, but this project has a tight budget and I have two other trips next year on the same project in which I need to to go Europe and Asia and Mexico. So the responsible thing to do is to by non-refundable coach (since the delta between discount Y and flexible Y is huge; if I was going to buy flexible Y I may as well buy C and not have to check my bag), and I'll just eat the ticket if it has to be cancelled or changed. The fare bucket does not earn miles, despite the fact that I could fly from PHL to LAX for the same amount of money, and it is killing me...

My excitement for the day was getting to see Air Force 1. It took the less than optimum(for photography purposes) flight path, but I'm giving myself bonus points for timing it right and actually spotting it.

Not exactly close(used a 300mm lens)

Funny thing was I had to leave work early a couple of hours later and as soon as I got on the highway, there it was flying overhead as it took off. I grabbed a couple of shots with my point and shoot, but no sane(non-Box) person would recognize it as AF1.

Day One of training: All I can say is that I didn't fall asleep. I think the 5 cups of coffee I had helped. I'm sitting next to a girl that current works in the BS department so we are keeping each other awake with customer/airline stories.

I have meet some nice people from other stations, so that's a plus.

Oh...it's also hot and humid and I'm sweating like a pig. And I could have sworn my hair wasn't that curly. :D

Was she sent back for re-training? Running out of good excuses?:D

I asked why she was there when she obviously didn't need the training and she said her boss told her she needed a paid vacation. Not sure I would call this class a vacation but atleast the hotel is ok.

Yes I am. I'm here until Wednesday night. I'm in class from 8am-4:30pm at IAH terminal E, right next to Gordon's Galley.

All times are GMT -6. The time now is 2:10 pm.
