Earlier this summer it was at least 3x 737 on there. Sounds like there's still 1 737 on the route - at 640a - not too convenient for flying to Europe.

Trying to do MSP-ORD-ZRH-LHR//AMS-MUC-ORD-MSP right now on a combination of United, Swiss and Lufthansa. We're at 45 minutes on the phone now.

And I have not been roughed. Therefore, there is no post offset. :D^

Don't. It is WAY out of the way. Taxsi rides are cheap enough, but still a PITA and the W is too far, IMO. The Hilton has a great lounge and is much closer to Taksim Square and mass transit.

I stayed at the Hyatt, which is right on Taksim Square, and it's pretty nice as well. (I was working somewhere to the north of Taksim so didn't want to stay in Sultanahmet).

So yeah, do it! :D

Is this on weekends only, or can you do it during the week too?

Well, both sbm12 and :rolleyes:v may be in the general vicinity around that time. Perhaps I should put some bail money in escrow, to be withdrawn if I end up in an Egyptian prison.

Bail money? They don't need no steenkin bail money. :-:

Here tomorrow (I won't be here) is chili, next night BBQ. Some of them like this one go all out, others just very  like 'grilled hotdog' night...oh come on...

I never get lucky enough to be there when they're doing something like that. Of course, I spend far too much time in Baton Rouge, and many of the hotels there seem to do as little as possible to keep the place open and the lights on.

How'd you know? :D

I believe multiple copies have been left in my rental copy after giving rides home from Micro Dos to a certain individual named after a small mammal that likes the water.

I guess that's what you could say my former boss did on an IAH-SJC flight I had the unfortunate displeasure of flying with her in 2000. She pulled such a device out of her purse and then proceeded down the aisle with that in hand, leaving the purse at her seat with her husband, to the lav. She was in about row 6. Everyone from that row all the way to the back knew what she was going to do. And she was a very large lady who had difficulty navigating the aisle of a 737, so it's not like she was able to sneak back there without causing a scene.

Some flights on that route have been ERJs for years, but only in recent months has the schedule gone mostly ERJ. Up until September CO still had about half those flights on 737s.

IAH-MSP is a route that depended pretty heavily on the NW/CO codeshare, and both airlines were running mostly full flights on that route most of the time. A very large percentage of that traffic was connecting at one end or the other; it will be interesting to see how much origin/destination traffic there really is. I suspect it's not all that great, hence the cutbacks in equipment from both CO and DL/NW.

IAH-ATL is seeing similar cuts this winter, with ERJs taking over many of the former mainline flights. When I switch back to CO I'll probably have to adjust my flying schedule somewhat if I want to stay on mainline flights whenever possible.

CLE - MSP has pretty much dropped to all regional between DL and CO, with only DL being left on DTW. That will not change much given todays change.

Gone are the days of mainline to both cities...

Steph3n Oct 27, 2009 11:10 pm

I would not be so bad if CO would get some E170s....:D

Gone are the days of mainline on a lot of routes out of DTW, MSP, and MEM.
