The two Dr. Pepper scholarship participants in the Big XII game should have taken pointers from the participants in the SEC game.

The Texas representative was not representative of the attractiveness of the UT women.

I took This photo of the snow a couple of hours ago, well what little I've received today. I think my patio furniture is expecting better weather.

It was coming down pretty hard by Wegmans when we were shopping there, but when we got home it was ran and very little accumulation.

Is there really a Carvel in SI? Fond memories of that from childhood that I might need to induldge, even if it is a couple hours r/t to get there. Easier than heading back to FL.

:confused::confused: Carvel is a Tri-State Institution. :-: Maybe you had some knockoff in FL or a one off franchise. google tells me there are a few in Manhattan. :-:

I'm in. Shall I ring up my friend in London to find us a venue?

The Nebraska representative looked a lot like my ex-girlfriend (photo previously posted in Box).

I discovered Friendly's ice cream when we moved to MD. Great stuff.

I've been to a number in Maryland which are still there (according to the locator).

The snow is very pretty before it gets all dirty & slushy! ;) The flakes are huge!

Yep, Gaithersburg. A few miles north of DC and 30 minutes from DCA. I worked at DCA from 1994-96, in the old terminal. It didn't snow often except for the 2 huge blizzards that we got back to back. Poor girl from Hawaii was out shoving snow for hours just to get the cars out of the garage. I loved our long driveway until that day. :D After the next blizzard we paid the neighborhood kids $50 to clean up the driveway and sidewalks.

I remember one in January 1996 but lived south of the city (missed a lot of those storms).

YES. ^

My son and I got up every morning at 6am to watch the last World Cup. We are a true soccer and football family.

As a good Midwestern boy, I first encountered Carvel while visiting my grandparents in Ft. Lauderdale in the late '70s, so they've been down there for a while.

They are now all over the place. There's one five minutes from my house.

Wikipedia tells me that my wife's hometown is the site of the first Carvel. That is my Fact For The Day.

So I'm ignorant. Tell me a new story.

We had one in Gainesville growing up and I have very good memories. The chocolate cake crunchies topping are delicious. Perhaps a new task for tomorrow.

Sitting on a stool at the bar of my regular Italian place tonight. Happened to sit next to Tony. He's apparently a huge flirt but also felt compelled to let me know that he wasn't really hitting on me the whole time we were talking, even though he was. Something about telling me how cute I am and how masculine my name is doesn't really seem all that innocent. But it sure was fun. I like getting hit on, even by the boys. It does wonders for the ego. :D

We were snowed in for 4 days. Then the snow plow showed up. There was so much snow on the ground that when my kids went out to play we lost them. I think we had drifts up to 3 feet in the back yard. It was nice and light so it was easy to shove for awhile.
