Definitely up for BoxBowl but need advice from the locals. Have reservations at the Aloft near the Galleria at a very good rate and would like to have any first hand reactions from the Box.

If there are :td: on the Aloft, I have a saver at the JW Marriott also at a very good rate.

Sorry I can't help - I've only stayed in the Hyatt SS Energy Corridor, which happens to be adjacent to a highly-popular nightclub on the weekend. My one aLoft experience was very positive but not generalizable ...

The answer - in true economist fashion - is "it depends". In my case, I pay less than a small apartment on a 15 year mortgage for a 3-bedroom home, with 50% of the payment going to equity. At the same time, I had the bit of panic each day between 19 Dec and 4 Jan that something could be happening at my hoem.
