I met him at a dinner in NYC, before the Brooklyn Reality Tour, I think. Great guy.
Since Brit was the organic inspiration for this MR seminar -- she & I were getting the 'celebrity' attention from other FTers there!:-::D That also meant the occasional 'icky' glances -- to which we're both thinking -- 'nooo, I'm not looking at you!' Along with -- 'I'd never be caught dead...traveling with you!' It's interesting what you find when you wander outside the B:rolleyes:X!:D:rolleyes: |

No matter how badly FDR wanted an excuse to get into the war; I sincerely doubt that he'd give up most of the 7th Fleet to get one. As a former Assistant Secretary for the Navy, he'd know that would making winning the war he wanted in so badly pretty tough. I am a big non-believer of conspiracy theories in general and those involving the government in particular; they just are not competent to execute some complex plot in secrecy. I am not a conspiracy theorist, I just think the U.S. knew the Japanese fleet was up to something and that an attack was imminent, they just did not know where it would take place. I too don't think the government is very capable or organized enough to execute something completely in secret. |

Haha. I love this:
I'm shocked to learn that TG is junking their 345's. That's incredible to me. I thought US was a serious shopper? I guess the range/capacity mix was overkill for their intended PHL - HEL routes.

If you downgrade from Amex plat to gold do they change your card number? I suspect so. What a pain ... but think of the money I'd save...

What are the odds that a guy who used to be on a lot of my LBB-IAH and IAH-CLE flights on Friday mornings last fall would end up sitting next to me on IAD-LAX on UA tonight?
Last September-December we ended up on flights together, often both in the exit row sitting in adjacent seats, every other week or so. Tonight I get on the plane and he's in the seat next to mine.

WWTBD:
With this weekend's specials, the most mile advantageous routes are IAH-POS and IAH-UIO. For IAH-POS, the number of EQMs earned would be 10,248 (DEQM) at a cpeqm of $.02 IAH-UIO is only 9,400 EQMs and would have a cpeqm of $.03 I would only be in either for a full day. POS does not really interest me and there is no Starwood property in T & T. Thoughts? |

So in other words you two sat there snickering at some of these people who take this stuff way too seriously and that should seek medical attention? OH -- you'd be interested to know that there were a lot of Asians there (majority C-A) -- reminded me of college days w/MIT geeks -- OK, not quite that bad!;) But, I appreciate that there is an intuitive connection b/w airline/travel 'geeks' & 'nerdy' pre-disposition!;) |
