While I'm not quite as wide as that dude, therein lies the specific reason I don't fly in Y: I do not fit. It is not fair to myself or the other pax around me. The only time I fly in a Y configuration is A) with my wife next to me and B) on WN 1D or any B6 flight with EML. Anything else is not cool.
So I guess it begs the question: If I realize I'm a landwhale and shouldn't try to fit in Y, why can't others? |

Wow, ground stop at ATL and IAH due to the computer issues. Hope this doesn't happen on Saturday.
That said, I was glad when I got up this morning that this happened today and not tomorrow, when I am flying, although West Coast flights this morning weren't nearly as affected, as the first outbound flights of the day out here are generally on planes that arrived the night before, or were on their way before the problems occurred early this morning. Predictions out here are that the afternoon/evening flights are more likely to be delayed as the aircraft that were delayed earlier in the day work their way out west. |

http://www.unitedafa.org/news/dearafa/default.aspx Unlimited Elite Customer Upgrades – Say Goodbye to First Class (emphasis added)As a result of the Antitrust Immunity granted to United and Continental, the airlines are allowed to coordinate products, services, schedules and other business related practices. Today, United and Continental announced that members of each carrier’s frequent flyer program who have earned elite status will receive unlimited, complimentary domestic upgrades and preferred economy class seating on either airline when space is available. United had previously announced their intention to implement this program last month to United’s elite customers, and is just another kick in the teeth to Flight Attendants and other loyal employees. These upgrades will be handled by the customer service representatives on the ground before the flight takes off, and Flight Attendants are not responsible or required to implement this new policy once the plane leaves the gate. The upgrade program becomes effective in March, 2010 and applies only to domestic flights on a space available basis. |
The pillows and blankets thread has become Germ-O-Phobes 'R' Us.

.Edward, my FT was acting up, so I don't know if the PM went through. Preserve the SPG points. 50K SPG is good for 60K in airline transfers (5K bonus for every 20K), and up to 6 nights in a nice Cat 4 Hotel (5th night free).
