That's one of my problems with Hyatt. The other is that their European properties are generally much more expensive than their *wood or Marriott counterparts (Hilton and IC are distant fourth choices for me if I am chasing points).

That they had "Lavender linen spray" in the room was strange, but whatever.

Is that all that's left of the sleep soundly kit these days? No music CD, eye mask, or ear plugs? I’ve always wondered why a hotel would give the customers ear plugs.

I've only seen that once, in the Crowne Plaza in Chicago which is right next to the highway. I assumed the ear plugs were to drown out the highway noise and were hotel-specific (as you can see, don't stay in too many CPs).

Just wondering...if this is the same lucky man with which you spent Halloween, how long before he is no longer "the new beau," and gets vested with some title more, sort of, persistent? ;)

Fair point :p

I think that for myself the happy medium is an airline that offers both (i.e. UA) where when I need something serious done, I can talk to a real agent and for everything else...well, there's the other option. :)

Don't forget about me! I never vote early. It can skew the exit polling.

Rode the all Y E170s yesterday. Nice experience, especially after coming off of a craptastic CL65, which was bearable on a 25 minute flight in the exit row with no seatmate.

BD has that. It's called Pre-Travel Services. UK-based agents. :-:

They used to be even better until the planes were sold to Republic and Tempe asked them to put in an extra row or two of seats.

Where? What dates? I'm not seeing anything under $596++ on CO.com.

Did not know that -- can they book awards (and if so) why not use them when trying to redeem a, er, reasonable, award when the ICC fails?

I've seen in at a bunch but I haven't been to a CP in about 14 months. None were in what I would call noisy areas.

From what I gather, Pre-Travel Services is not to be used as an initial point of contact for reward booking. They exist to sort things out when the ICC screws up your reservation, amongst other functions. For example, if the ICC agents ticketed me in the wrong cabin of service, and availability no longer existed in C/F, I would call PTS. Same deal if a flight got cancelled and the ICC couldn't manage to re-book me. They're there to deal with serious issues that crop up, where incompetent ICC agents simply can't craft a solution (due to training or empowerment issues).
