Well, I did pack up some of Chomsky's books from my current office - brought back traumatic memories of 3.5 hour lectures (not kidding).

I can think of a few without using teh Google, but I'm a political junkie, and have been following the whip count on Healthcare voting lately...

Louisiana: Senior - Mary Landrieu (D), Junior - David Vitter (R)
New York: Senior - Chuck Schumer (D), Junior - Kirsten Gillibrand (D)
Texas: Senior - Kay Bailey Hutchison (Retiring, R), Junior - John Cornyn (R)
Vermont: Senior - Patrick Leahy (D), Junior - Bernie Sanders (Socialist :D)

Did the other one use race-baiting ads against Harold Ford, Jr., and does his name rhyme with "porker?"

icurhere2 Sep 14, 2009 9:10 pm

I felt (as an African American) both candidates were DBs in that election. Of course, I had to put up with the television ads that delivered contradictory messages based upon the station where ad space was purchased.*

Let's see...

NJ: Lautenberg/Menendez
CA: Feinstein/Boxer
AZ: McCain/Kyl

I pass the cocktail party test, just barely.

Rather than an orange slice, I add a shot of orange juice to Blue Moon.

Color me silly orange.

Were it me, (and thanks, all, for that answer) I would not have any of those states, except for TX (NY before Hillary took a powder). One from each, sure. But naming the second stringer is no easier in senators than in NFL centers, and probably takes the same level of engagement to do it.

By the way, am I the only one who thinks Mary Landrieu is kind of hot?

Orange juice is an indulgence for me.

Yes, you may well be.

Yes. There are no hottie senators. However, Dennis Kucinich's wife (Elizabeth) is hot, and has an English accent, to boot...

Surprisingly, not all politicians have wives that could double as proletarian hausfraus in early Soviet propaganda films.

Herseth Sandlin is probably the closest thing to talent in Congress.

Sorry for the insane multi-quoting; apparently the last 10 hours have been nuts...

I feel like I robbed CO.

Last year I spent a cool $10k for a mixture of work and pleasure travel and almost made Gold.

2009 CO spending (including ticketed but not-yet-flown): $3,561 for 84,247 EQMs. I would have just made Plat without the second DEQM period. Only two MRs...that $408 trip to FRA via IAH back in May was pretty sweet. :D

My list: 36/50 completed, missing
Alaska (airport only...and I was 2. It clearly does not count.)
Arkansas
Hawaii
Idaho
Iowa
Kansas
Missouri
Montana
Nebraska
North Dakota
Oregon
South Dakota
Wisconsin
Wyoming

Lived:
CT
OH
MA
NY (kinda sorta, short term)
LA
NJ

I was actually surprised that CT was on so many people's lists, as it seems to be "between" just about everything in the Northeast.

Agreed. I was at a conference there this past March. Everyone else was complaining about the location when it was announced, but I was looking on the bright side - a fairly painless excuse to knock another semi-random state off the list. :)

I have to admit, I have a soft spot for the Wheel of Fortune slot machines...my last two times in LAS, I made $250 (on an initial $100) and $120 (on an initial $20) on the things. ^

RE: Mary Landrieu.
Just checked out some internet photos. Let's make that rhetorical question "...was kind of hot."

Good night.

Try Modia on Westheimer next to Pappas Burgers.

Yeah. Even with my caveat/correction above, let's say I'm rethinking my position.
