I put 3.5 years of mine together over the last few days of December 2008. I was at home, and my job at that time was to sit there with my sister and crack the whip at her to finish her college applications so we could get them postmarked by 1/1/09. Both tasks were quite monotonous, but managed to fit together well.

THIRTEEN applications. I did six. These days are getting ridiculous.

Wow, some people have all the luck! I'm really sorry to hear about your wife's more chaotic journey, though. :(

As for the 11" model, that's not a NetBook. It is a laptop. Too big.

^ My PowerBook (b. 2005) was a 12", and while I was thankful for its portability, it sure wasn't anything I would classify with today's netbooks!

For dessert I did have their Fleurburger which was very nice and presented very well. The "burger" was put together with a beignet as the bun, chocolate ganache as the burger, passionfruit as the cheese, kiwi as the lettuce, strawberry as the tomato. A kiwi wedge acted as the pickle spear, a shot glass of banana smoothie as the shake, a small dollop of whip cream as the mayo and finally fennel ice cream as the fries in a chocolate cup. Needless to say this was the highlight of the meal.

WOW. So creative. And yes, that post would have been incomplete without the picture. :)

Our tire solution, I think, will go somewhat thusly: cab to Tire Kingdom (1 mile away), bringing the wheel - they install the tire - we return with the wheel/tire and put it back on the car - then we drive the car BACK to T.K. and buy a second tire to be the new spare. Sketchy, but effective.

HHI is pretty gorgeous right now...and the crowds definitely seem down from last year, at least so far today.

I'm still thinking about this Cherry Bomb I had at Pier 39 at Fisherman's Wharf at a place called The Fudge House. Chocolate casing with cherry, dark and milk chocolate fudge and mousse all together. Wow, that was exceptional.

I will be in SFO for the first time on Aug 21, and there will the redeye leaves 1 min before midnight on the 27th.....so I will have time to hit several places.

I am still going to the stinking rose, but maybe not having as high of expectations of it now.
I just need to find someone to go with for dinners, and I don't mean the paid variety :D I hate dining alone. (but I do it all the time, I meet interesting people while dining at the bar however!)

I've got a year. Let's not rush it.

We went to a jeweler on Saturday and she was trying on wedding bands. She asked if I wanted to try any on and I said "nope. I've got a year to come to terms with this. Let's not rush it." :D

She hates me most days.

I can suggest a number of places all of which are far better than The Stinking Rose. One of my top picks would be Albona Ristorante. Then there's Foreign Cinema, Fleur de Lys, etc.

The weather looks like its going to be pretty bad tonight. Im gonna pass on drinks tonight unless it clears up at the last minute.

I love garlic so stinking rose was all about that, now that I know it is average it's not high on the list of todo items, I am checking into these, any others? I will be there several days, so have plenty time. Renting a car as well, I hate taxis. What should I expect to pay in parking in and around SFO?

Marriott still hasn't posted a stay from July 1 to my account. Marriott really lags behind Starwood with respect to time within which stays post to one's account.

If you mean parking in and around the city of San Francisco (as opposed to SFO airport), expect to pay a lot at garages and hotels. Some neighborhoods have street parking, but if you are staying in or around downtown, you will have to park in a garage overnight, in which case you might as well just use your hotel's garage and get in and out privileges. I try to avoid renting a car if most of my movements will be confined to the center of the city, but sometimes it is unavoidable and more convenient just to rent a car, park on the street where possible, and eat the hotel parking charges is you are staying downtown.

If you stay out in the burbs or near the airport, parking at the major hotels will be less expensive, or free, in some instances.

Checked the better half in for our return and CO was offering an upgrade to F for $199. Does that mean they've upgraded all EUAble folks? That would be nice as that means she actually has a chance on the airport list.

In theory, all elites should have been upgraded, but anecodtal evidence suggests that occassionally, such is not the case. Does co.com show anyone on the upgrade standby list?
